Mighty Coconut kills it with this debut game, and can probably make you like golf even if you don't. I wouldn't be surprised if they milk this cow with DLC maps for years, it's that good. It's crazy how there has been so many moments where you're caught up, walking about these holes looking for the design-hot lost balls, staring at these beautiful vistas while the music swells and you just feel born again in this living and breathing world of VR mini golf. You're in space, you're in Dracula's castle, you're in Gunsmoke, you're in... uh.. Holland. There's good variety and you don't feel like you're just playing the same hole 18 times with a different setting.

Just uh... just go play left 4 dead again. This isn't trash, but it gets closer with every hour.

Subtle nods to the original Diablo, imagine a Cooperative VR lootfest where swordplay is 10/10.

...But what really hits it home is when you come to the conclusion that you're a gigachad, and you and your buddy are going to abstain from all weaponry and star platinum 'OraOraOra' everything that moves.

One of the greatest games ever made

Team Ninja nails it. Bruh the amount of satisfaction I got out of finally finishing 30 depths is unreal. This game is ridiculously good!

Sometimes you just gotta write a wall of text so here we go.

You first get into After the Fall, and it's awesome. It feels good, gunplay/reloading is tight, throwing bombs feels like they have appropriate weight. Finding a group is easy in the cross-platform hub world where you can tool around with your weapons after RNG blesses you with the right mods. Playing rock paper scissors with a stranger and then joining them in a group of 4 for some zombie killing action is excellent. You like it so you play the next level, and then the next, and after about a couple hours of progression, you're stopped. You're out of new levels. The Game is good, but you're left feeling it's a little shallow of content. You can replay the levels on higher difficulties, and that will unlock a different tier of mods so there are reasons to do this beyond padding game time, but the levels are not different enough just because enemies will run faster/have more armor on/hit you harder/ etc. It was fun the first time, but the loop will be less fun each consecutive time. I hope they add more content because I will always be a big fan of co-op zombie shooters, but it's hard to gloss over the fact that they released the game with a campaign that can probably be beaten and then refunded still under the ~2hr mark.

it's a good game, and I like it, but it suffers from not enough game. Timely roadmap content drops will make it, but if the devs wait too long, game will lose it's momentum and people will just go back to Left 4 dead, walking dead, Back 4 blood, SURV1V3, Dying Light, Days Gone, uhhh Project Zomboid, CoD Zombies, Resident Evils, Day Z, 7 Days to die... Minecraft zombies? Is there a minecraft zombie game? probably. Hell, Arizona Sunshine has more game to play, and you guys at vertigo have at least heard of that one.

Saints & Sinners was not much more in the level department; it had you revisiting areas you've been to already looking for supplies and key items, but it kept you invested because of the story arc pushing it forward. Characters are fleshed out and feel more realistic with actual gravitas behind why they do the things they do. I don't know what the hell harvest is, or why it's keeping people unfrozen/alive. I don't know who this resistance group is beyond robot arm 'ring the bell to speak to me' Luna, or gas-huffing dollar store L4D Bill who saves you. I liked the gameplay but it came to such an abrupt stop, I don't know what I'm doin here anymore and It doesn't feel important to anybody either way.

I'm sure devs will add some more content, I'm sure it'll be good just because it's more, but the bigger part of this problem is playing the game is the only thing that will hook someone, and there's barely any of that to be had here. You're gonna piss more people off by being such a tease. I'm looking forward to seeing this the next year, and I'm sure if handled correctly this game can become the biggest zombie game ever known, blowing away the competition and all other zombie games easily. Good luck Vertigo Games, I'm rooting for you.
