Cool setting. Great ideas and art.
Gameplay is fun. A lot of features, kind of blending action, mmo and survival, while staying action.
You got a mini pokemon thing going as well as farming and taming of "normal" fauna and flora.
Tons of weapons and armor, to get and use. System of Mods, Buffs, and such on top. Several ok, few god-like builds.
Dungeons, Bossfights, world bosses and events as well as raids. Challenges on top.

Pretty much everything you want in an MP open world survival.

Resetting servers sound like a red flag, but actually are fine. 4-6 phases long runs take anywhere between 3 weeks PvP to 8 weeks PvE senarios (and they still build new ones).
Keeping your stuff and fast-level-or-skip-mechanics make it fun. New seasons come with old seasons still starting, diffeent difficulties and other events, drops, etc. . Works better than it sounds.


PvP is juts not that great. Gamemodes for it are kind of bland or need a huge pile of players in guilds. Lag, survival skills and gunplay are not made for PvP.

If you play a lot, you might run into slow-phases and have to wait for content to unlock (in 3-7 days). This lind of sucks, but at least you can not miss out on suff.

Campaign is great and a worthy successor to The first game.
Coop is a great addition for that.
Sadly it only takes around 8 hours and because there are no leveling-mechnics, there realy is no point in playing it on higher difficulties. Since we do not have any choices, there is also no replay-value there.

The 6 "side missions" are your generic 3-ppl coop. A mix of Marvel Avangers, World War Z and Back 4 Blood. (Why not mention better games here? Well like those content does not equal value).
Here we can level up, get perks and such. But all in only 6 levels. Them beeing kind of lengthy at times, does not help. Leveling one of the many classes will take near 30 runs. That takes away the fun of teh gamemode. It is just too few content for that many XP-grinds.
Going with around 6-8 hours for one playthrough, they are a neat addition and actually beeing able to level- and gear-up might make you wanna go more then 1 round (prolly not 5x6=30 rounds per class).

PvP is nice. Also on the lower end of content with maps, modes and gear. It is decent, but could never survive alone.

So: A great 1-time story (8 hours), some play-around in coop maps (6-8 hours) and an ok PvP, brings me up to a 50ish € game at most. Better even either have the coop and campaing be the same going full B4B or putting voice, longer levels and such into coop, so it eaquals story in quality and just leave PvP out. Then sell for 35€ and drown in praise.
Wanna get more content out? Maybe sell it? Sure give me the quality of teh story and you are in!

Feed the game lazyly over 2-years and mostly go for vanity as well as coop and PvP like quality, you might fullfill your kind-of-all-over-the-place 60ish € game, but at the price right now ... soory it is just ok-good but not worth that.

Since there is no option to just get the story, i would recommand to wait at least 2 years and buy on a hefty sale.

No idea why a producer and the Devs would not have more confidence in their product and sell for 2-3 times the price to MAYBE dribble in content to fullfill half of it over years.
Sad for the Devs that they are ok with such a deal (makeing them not much better), scummy on Producer part (but well, we know how it is with coop games).
For half the price this would be a candidate for goty, but not for that.


Since i already own it, i will keep playing it for sure. On the side of bugs there are a ton, but it is mostly obvious stuff and could be fixed fast. Coop campaign and stuff went easy peasy without much problems (one time crash in like 12 hours on the host, but we overdid it a bit).

Compared to DaD it is much faster and feels more arcade style; which is a good thing.

Still some things should be handled better.
Most importantly: Only Bosses seem to not teather and not loose aggro, all notmal mobs do that. And also doors can be opend and closed instantly. This is nice for PvE-newbies, to retreat, but it makes PvP trivial. Just get gear into the map, run through every room, not giving a care about mobs and go straight for Players.

Took the bigger part of the community 2 days to figure that out, but now it is just storm spawnpoints and win or fail. Kind of a sweaty DaD.

A lovely crafted and beautiful survival RPG, with actuall content.

It amazes me how detailed everything in here seems to be.
There is an exessive Tech-Tree, puzzles, riddles, dungeons, caves, villiges, fortresses, skill system, mod system, collectibles, mood-systems, perk system, taming, farming, mounts, NPC-follower, chracter-switch whiel ingame, ... , .... ,... over an abundance of biomes and sub-biomes. The crafting system is grat and dynamicly functioning, while balance seems always present and everything can be dropped around the world.

But content is not all. Also the build of the world and teh variants of grafics for every shrub, plant or stone around, turns the world into soemthing alive and real. Immersion and depth is amazing.


It does need a lot of online time to not loose stuff even on official PvE and the grind for the several EXP-variants is more then real, but it does not feel like a chore or job. Game is fun to explore, play and enjoy.

Nothing compared to a rust or the likes. Way to complicated to compare with your mindless action PvP games.
