Early Access Review
I enjoyed the Alpha thoroughly, the overall gameplay is fun! The movement, the weapon movesets, the enemy variety with interesting attack patterns, the fantastic level design and the gorgeous environment art all makes a wonderful game so far and I'm definently going to hop back into it when new content comes out!

But I have some gripes:
- The story content ended very abruptly which is fine, but please notify the player that its the end of the story content. And don't include the Crucible as story content.
- There are some areas that are visible but are blocked off by a raised ladder or a pitfall with a drawbridge on the opposite ledge that had me thinking I could somehow get to the other side like i've done so many times before but nah its just not part of the alpha it seems.... THEN SAY THAT RIGHT THERE IN THE LEVEL WITH A SIGN OR SOMETHING!
- I wish the Stat attributes(Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith) did more than just damage scaling with weapons.
- With the seemingly massive marketing push that the game got I feel like they could've done a better job at clarifying that it is in Alpha both in their commercials and in game.
- Cooking and food is weird in a game like this, especially if they are kinda just potions? I would prefer something like the Esthus system for DS or just potions from Diablo? Also a lot of the different foods have the exact same effect but they don't stack which just makes for very cluttery inventorys and difficulty selecting what you want when you're in a tight spot.
- No respec system? I would be fine with that as a choice but then at least let me start in the city and let building improvements carry over between characters so I don't have to do all that again.

In general I think this game is fantastic but I can't help but feel like the game is trying to do a little bit too much.
There are so many systems that feel like they're all kinda bare bones and don't add that much value to the overall package, like gathering materials to craft.... what exactly? Everything useful seems to drop from enemies anyway so crafting becomes a bit superfluous.
I think you could strip away a lot of unnecessary mechanics that really just don't add much and still end up with a fantastic core that is already mostly in place.
