One of the best co-op shooters I've yet played. Has tons of personality, the devs are constantly updating and communicating, solid mod support, and one of the better communities I've come across.

10/10, would run screaming while the driller trys to blow me up with C4 again.

The game looks and plays fantastically. Voice work and music are both top notch. Game is not without it's flaws though:

The facial animations in the main game have a tendency to be very odd, ranging from barely there to highly exaggerated with little in-between. I'll not that this is greatly improved upon in the areas of the Frozen Wilds DLC.

Skill tree is a largely underwhelming, serving mostly to gate things that should really be default like the ability to kill in stealth and the ability to slow time when aiming (trust me, this is near vital to have in most fights).

The mechanic of taking control of the machine animals feels underused. There just are not a lot of places where it's all that needed to use and in most of the harder areas, as well as most of the major story fights, the enemies tend to be immune to such things.

The game is still a wonderful work and I enjoyed ever minute of it and can not wait for Forbidden West to be ported to the PC (which, being realistic, probably won't be till '23, and that is the absolute earliest).

This is a good, solid title that has come a long way since release. And those of you review bombing the game because they've halted development for a few months, shame on you.

If you actually love the game and want things to change, you should be rating it honestly so more people will see it, consider buying it, and thus increase the player base.

Larger player base means it is much more likely to be given attention from corporate.

A worthy heir to CK2's crown.

A very solid mmo looter shooter. The classes are all very fun to play, the guns feel satisfying to use, and there is a decent variation of enemies and environments, spanning from the ruins of old Earth, the hellish homes of the Hive, and the ethereal beauty of the Dreaming City. And the content you get for no cost is quite significant, with the original base game plus the following 2 DLCs (Curse of Osiris and Warmind). Both Forsaken and Shadowkeep I would say are also worth their costs.

All that said, I will note that to get the full enjoyment out of the game, being in a Clan or having friends that also play is strongly recommended. Also, sadly, while shaders only cost in game currency and are at times almost thrown at you (my shader inventory filled very quickly), most universal armor ornaments (items that significantly alter the armors appearance) are currently found in the cash shop (Eververse).

Still, I currently consider both to be fairly minor issues and have no problem recommending Destiny 2.

EDIT: Two years later and I would still have no issue recommending D2. Europa is one of the best areas they've ever had and frankly, Bungies story work this past year has been the strongest it's been in ages. I eagerly await the coming launch of the Witch Queen and to turn Savathun into a gun.

Stellaris is a game that continues to amaze.

Amaze me in how the dev team is willing to realize they made a mistake and upend entire core game features to make the game better.

This game was lacking in the past, but now has begun to be the game we all wished it had been at launch. And with the continuing overhauls of the games various systems, the future of the title looks brighter still.

UPDATE: Yeah, can say I'm no longer frustrated. It's pretty clear now with Wiz aka Martin Anward in charge that the team has a clear objective. And that objective is awesomeness. The comming Le Guin update with the complete overhaul of planet managment and removal of the less than sterllar(is) tile system has me chomping at the bit.

It's warhammer 1, but better. Magic is more impactful, the maps more interesting and better looking, the game is better optimized (load times easly half of WH1's on my mechanical hard drive), legandary lord skill trees more interesting, and there are many small QoL imporvements.

But as I said, it is still roughly the same beast. So if you liked WH1, this is a no brainer. If you didn't, then #2 is unlikely to change your mind.

A very poor mans Mario Party.

Only upside is that I was gifted my copy so at least I didn't spend any of my own money on it.

Let me start off by saying, this is not a bad game.

The visuals are nice
It ran well on my machine
Did not notice bugs of significance
There are a decent number of guns, all of which sound and look great
The sound track is perfectly serviceable
The voice acting, while not great, gets the job done
And the AI makes damn sure that you stick to cover when you can lest you find your head has a new air hole.

So why can I not recommend this game?
Because even though I only spent $5 I do not feel like I got my monies worth.
At the time of this review I have put 3.4 hours into it and that covered the entire single player campaign. None of the levels left me any real desire to replay them. The characters where all fairly stock and I didn't feel any sort of connection to them. The games background (the rise of North Korea to a superpower) was just too unbelievable and you could see exactly where they had to file off 'China' and replace it with 'Korea'. And finally, the game doesn't even have any sort of satisfactory end to it. It just sort of... stops.

As I don't personally play multiplayer, I can not comment on it. But if you looking for a good modern military shooter, look elsewhere.

As a someone who is of the opinon that metal goes with just about everything, it comes as no surprise that I greatly prefer the GD&S tracks over the originals.

However, as with all things, whether you like this will come down to personal taste.

So take advatage of the fact that all the tracks are avilable to listen to for free on Youtube. Given that. there is no excuse for buying this and then finding out you hate it after the fact.
