After about 50 hours of playing, here are my 2 cents on TFD :

- The game itself plays relatively well, the guns have good feeling and movement is fluid. Jumping around enemies blasting them is cool and engaging.

- The sound design is cool too, the popping sound the enemies do when you kill them with a crit is specially satisfying to hear. Guns sound like guns, not much to expand here.

This is enough to be kept engaged in the gameplay loop, running around, blasting mobs, harvesting resources. It's fun.

Now for why I'm not recommending it :

- It tries to emulate a lot Warframe's mechanics (a looooooot of resources and blueprints to farm for most things in the game), but fails on a single weak point : No Auction House.
In Warframe, when you're farming on of the thousand of possible resources or blueprints, you at least got the possibility to put what does not interest you on the marketplace, allowing you to eventually buy the component you'd be farming at one point. This makes a lenghty, boring grind a bit more interesting.
Here, you don't have this option, so farm your a$$ off and if you don't drop what you want, just deal with it, even if it takes hours.

- Hello, 2024 here, where are guilds/clans/other basic social features we've had for about 25 years in online games ? Especially when the Hard content is not playable in public ?

- It's a patchwork of diverse other licenses, be it narratively or mechanics-wise. You often find yourself thinking : "Oh, it's the UI and basically the story from Destiny, the mechanics of Warframe, the guns of The Division...".
It's as unoriginal as it can be.

- The difficulty upgrade when arriving in Hard Mode is huge, and you're not helped through it by the game, even more when you realize the public option is disabled for hard content. Either you got friends, or you'll have to play something that's made to solo the content (spoilers : it takes a lot of time to achieve).

- A lot of events are globally ill-conceived chores.
Like "emptying" your Amorphous Materials : a long string of Intercepts where you'll spend more time in loading screens and waiting for the Colossi to pop, because you're iLvL 100 and you basically ruin their day in 5s.

Farming some materials is incomprehensibly boring :
Encrypted vaults : Who designed this ? Why does it go through a whole other screen with 5s of useless animations ? Why is it so random ? Why does it punish you so hard if you do 1 error that you basically failed it ? This is bad design, and when it becomes mandatory, it's a good way for a player to lose its motivation.

The Infiltrations : Why the 5-minute cooldown on an event that's wrapped in basically 10 seconds ?

I usually go full F2P on the gameplay aspects for these games (Only buying slots and other basic QoL things) but we need to address that buying Ultimate Descendant IS 70 EUROS. The price of a full game for a character you'll have to spend 50+ hours to up on top. Yes, these are farmable. With ridiculous drop rates equivalent to a huge time investment on top. So it's as always with predatory MTX, about how you value your time.
But this is the epitomy of a game company creating an issue and selling an overpriced solution to it, be it financially or timewise.

I'll honestly keep playing for a bit because I'm kind of hooked on the gameplay loop, but the boring/excessive/abusive parts starts to rear their heads and I might let it go soon.

One thing is sure, as of now I do not recommend this game. Warframe does the same thing better, and rewards/respects the player better for an equivalent grind investment.
Waifus and Husbandos don't make a game when it's the only """""original""""" thing you have to offer.

Ok so 3rd version, changing back recommandation to the original "No".
This has nothing to do with the launch issues anymore.

This game still has serious technical and core gameplay issues and feels like early access more often than not.

My experience after 60+ hours :

- The game is still lagging in populated zones. Try respeccing your passives in the End Of Time.
Problem : all Passive respecs are in populated zones.
Problem : you pop in the End of Time systematically on endgame, so you're popping in a laggy zone. That's not a good welcome when launching the game.

- If like me you heard "All specs are viable, there is no need for a build" about Last Epoch : it is a lie.
Wanted to do a Bleed archer => Not viable.
Wanted a Thorns/Reflect build => Has nearly no build options.
It's the same boring "One attack or two that work together, one escape one buff" scheme of character build.

- The three dungeons are just plain bad.
The added "D" skill is gimmicky and annoying in each of them.
The procedural generation plain sucks. Having random barriers blocking hallways in a checkboard does not equal a "real" procedurally generated dungeon.
The power difference between common/elites mobs and bosses will have its own section.

- Then let's get to it : balancing is one of the worst I've ever seen in an ARPG.
When running dungeons (or some Monoliths, Lagon is an example of really bad boss encounter design), you'll usually rip through the mass of mobs with ease, then face the boss and get OS'd.
And I'm not talking about getting there with holes in your resists, I'm talking full resists capped or overcapped, with a middle to good health pool and you'll still get destroyed.
Somes bosses chain skills a lot faster than you can run or your recover your escape skill. (Got +30% movespeed and a bit of cooldown recovery)
You end up stacking Resists, Health, CS Avoidance on nearly every build, leaving little room for offensive affixes.

- This games bores me
Breezing through a lot of content to end up with a boss encounter that feels more like a marathon than a fight to hope and drop a better item is not something I personnally find funny.
I know it can be easily pushed aside saying "This is the point of any ARPG" but really the difference in rythm, dynamism and difficulty between the mobs and the bosses are so pronounced that it just ruins the whole gameplay loop for me.

I'll be giving it another chance in a few months.

It's a shame to think that somewhere around this time, Omega Force was developing Hyrule Legends.
This one is bland, has very limited customisation even compared with older Dynasty games.
It's a mediocre musou with a Berserk skin. If you're kind of a collector you'll want it under your belt, if you are just looking for an anime Musou, Attack on Titan is more fun and more original (or any other Musou game that's not a recent Dynasty)

Honestly some early access / beta titles offer more content than this.
Only one game mode, no variations in objectives (go there, kill dinos, repeat 4x, go to a payload escort)
Far from being worth 60$

Imagine publishing in 1.0 after some betas, mismanaging the game to the point where the hype deflates, then pretending nothing happened and going back to "Oh this was an open beta".
All the while, there was a full shop, founders packs, 2 seasons of battle passes...
This feels like a huge scam.

I wouldn't recommend New World if you live on another planet and did not try it yet.

I came into it with the promise of a PvP based game. With wild memories from "Dark Age of Camelot" and eager to fight.

Now after 200+ hours I can say this :
- New World is in no way a PvP game. PvP in new world mainly takes place in instanced zones with a limited amount of players. The only change with a WoW Battleground is that it uses the same layout as the "real" zones, trying to cheat you into thinking you're in an open zone.
- The PVE in this game plainly sucks. I'm talking no sense in zones layout, level distribution, quest rewards, grinding...
- The HL content is boring, repetitive, and unchallenging. And also it should not be about farming Incursions and dungeons but duking it out with fellow players. If the only challenge for your endgame is to find a group, then maybe somewhere, something went very wrong.

I'll end up trying Camelot Unchained if this continues... On to the next disappointment, I suppose...

It's a very good game until you realize the online half is unplayable (full lag, most probably caused by Colt players being host)

Futuristic dwarves mining stuff up in hostile caves.

It's a LOT more funny than it seems. And Beer is an actual game mechanic too.

ROCK&STONE!!!!!

Stay away.
If you want a horde fighter, go WWZ, B4B, Killing Floor... Don't play this mediocre game in a world were others do it best.
If you want an Aliens game, I feel for you sister or brother, but it's gonna be replaying Isolation until another good Aliens game comes out :(

Everything but the sound design in this game has been thought of by people who either never played a horde fighter in their life or just did not care.
Nearly every aspect of the game (AI, Progression, Difficulty, Classes) is broken to a point it's not salvageable, sometimes in conception, sometimes in execution, often both.
Obviously this has not been playtested at all (who playtests in 2021 when the CUSTOMERS are there for it?)

Don't lose 40€ you could easily invest on something better.

Edit on 9/8/21
REJOICE PEOPLE OF EARTH PHALANX IS HERE!
Well no.
Because first, the Phalanx doesn't do anything to adress the abysmal lack of balance in Classes.
And then not ONE of the major issues I cited on my first draft of the review are addressed :
AI rework? No.
Cards balancing? No.
Classes balancing? Lelelelelelelelelel

I'm over disappointed. This is going in the bin where it belongs.
