I can't believe how good this game is in VR - tops most of the games you can buy for VR right now.

Beer me my ninja brethren.

Edit:

If you like fast paced, wall jumping, hack n' slashing, gunn blasting, unadulterated, pixelated gore action and violence - this is your game.

It's very similar to Towerfall in that it's dependant on having controllers and friends present to enjoy the game in one locale, but if you meet these requirements it is a must have for local co-op competition. Things get very tense as friends become rivals in a race to victory or a showdown between the two top competitors.

Very fun and very much worth the money.

Early Access Review
Just played for the first time last night - oh my goodness is this game fun. The art scheme is fantastic, the controls are excellent, pretty much every aspect of this game is superb. Playing as the hero is fun and if someone playing seems to be unkillable the other players are handicapped by gaining vitae which allows them to upgrade their monsters and give them an edge. Anyways just take my word for it and buy it already - if you are trying to build your library of local co-op games to be played on the couch with friends this is a must have.

Crazy fun - but you have to have friends and 4 USB controllers to truly experience it's greatness. Really enjoy playing this one while all wasted.

Edit:
The addition of DarkWorld as DLC has made cooperative gameplay a much more viable option than before; you and up to 4 friends can now blast your way through waves of NPC's to finally face some really fun and interesting boss battles (also there are some new character skins!).

My main testimonial for this game would have to lie in the hours I've played (all with friends obviously); at 90+ hours I would say that this game has paid for itself in the fun I have had skewering friends with arrows at the late hours of the night.

NOTE: If you don't have people coming over regularly to play videogames this isn't gonna be worth it for you... but for pete sake just get anyone you can to play because this game is truly a local co-op gem!

Space is a ♥♥♥♥♥... but no matter how many times the Rebel flagship pulverizes my space craft into a hunk of debris in the endless vacuum of space I keep coming back for more.

Edit:

In all seriousness though, this game is amazing. The soundtrack by Ben Prunty adds to the immersiveness of each unique experience whether you are battling pirates, fighting federation drones, or just drifting through abandoned nebulae.

There are multiple ships to unlock each with different unlockable loadouts giving the game a lot of potentiial for replayability (which it already had due to its procedural generation of events and locations).

Although it is challenging at first, the reward of becoming a better micro-manager of tasks and eventually getting that first successful playthrough from start to finish will make learning the games mechanics and executing them an extremely rewarding experience. BUY THIS AMAZING GAME!!!

Damn its good.

Edit: Guess I could have been more helpful with this review!

To be brief, this game offers the open world roaming and climbing abilities that you would expect from a game like Assassin's Creed but in the mystical world of middle earth. The combat mechanic's work like any of the Batman Arkham Asylum/City/Knight games with simple two button mechanics (one for light and one for heavy attacks) and with ques for counters. Your character (a ranger from Gondor) is also inhabitted by the lifeforce of an elf from times past giving you the ability to use a 'Wraith' perspective on the world that is very reminiscent of times when Frodo would wear the ring in the movies and which operates like the detective vision from the Batman Arkham games (with the added bonus of being able to wield an ethereal bow and arrow in slow motion to shoot Orks in the face!). The best part is sending limbs and heads flying from the hordes of Orks as you become progressively more powerful and gain new (and extremely fun to use) abilities.

Anyways, if you are a diehard fan of the LOTR lore you will be dissapointed to find that the storyline is not completely true to the original but for those of us just wanting to slice and dice the evils that plague Middle Earth - this game is for you.

P.S. - It didn't win game of the year for nothing folks.
