Omori gets a really bad rep for all the things that have gone on around it, but I want to focus purely on the game here. (Also going to keep very very minimal spoilers for the review)

Omori is really important to me, I've went through the game and made sure I've done everything that there is to be done because I wanted to know everything this game had to offer, and I don't regret it one bit. I played the game in a very rough spot in my life and I really fell in love and found solace in the characters, just enjoying their dialogue and interactions. They all have so much character and really just put a smile on your face. The game has an absolutely outstanding (and charming) art style and sound track. One of my other favorite parts is the amount of symbolism that takes place in this game, it's just something I've never been able to stop admiring, the fact that Omori is a black and white figure with a cold blank stare in a colorful dreamy landscape where everything else is cheery, showing how truly disconnected he is, the fact that your friends all have different personalities that represent the types of people that keep a friend group together, the fact that you have to actually FIGHT with your fears, the fact that there are areas of the game that are happy and cheery and also areas that touch on the darkness that takes place in the back of a traumatized persons mind (also all the secret hidden areas that can only be accessed if you paid attention to the dialogue, that stuff is my favorite), pretty much every area (sometimes even room) in Omori have some sort of symbolism behind them. I also absolutely LOVE the combat, the mood system that affects your stats and what you're weak/strong against is so genius and so much fun, the skills and the synergy they can have together, an example being Kel's ANNOY working with Aubrey's HEADBUTT because Kel will almost always go before Aubrey because of his speed, or also Omori's SAD POEM working well with his other skill STAB, it's simple enough to understand easily but has enough depth to make you have to think about your next move and choose the skills you equip wisely to compliment your other party members (Especially on some of those secret fights!). The game has very heavy themes on very heavy topics and can most certainly be a lot for some people, but I'm really glad there is a game delievering these things is such a good way that makes me feel as if the creator actually put thought into it and crafted it well, you can tell there was an immense amount of care that went into it. There is so much to do in Omori and if you're reading this and have never played, please I'm begging you, pick up the game and remember these things:
Talk to the NPCs, do their quests, exhaust the dialogue, it's worth it.
Explore the game, try to make the most of the areas and check out everything you can.
Play all the routes, it's SO worth it.
Enjoy the game.

And most of all, take care of Basil's flowers for me please :)
