Sorry but changing this to negative. Matchmaking experience is horrible from SEA region. Bot matches, really?

Old review below:

Similar to tower defense game. You have a base to defend, a turret (tower) and a creep. Dota, but simpler. 2d side-scrolling game.

During the battle, you collect gold, kill opposing teams and upgrade your character. Try to erase the enemies' towers and base before they do yours. Environment/level is fun. You can jump around to evade attacks, use elevator, or use trampoline to travel faster.

Gameplay is simple, indeed.

But again, I need to say frankly, DLCs all over your face. Only buy if you really want it, otherwise ignore - as there's nothing to lose really.

Unbelievably addicting game.

If you're into horror FPS, none can match Left 4 Dead 2. Worth every penny you spend on this game.

Basic gameplay is versus in all modes in principal. If you're Survivor, you usually need to go to the safe room, while covering each others back (4 members in a team vs 4 infected). If you're Infected, you'll need to eliminate them as many as possible before reaching the safe room.

That said, he game really shines when you play matchmaking/with friends. With many modes to boot, you can choose from coop campaign to versus to survival. Versus will put your shooting skill and coordination with team to test.

But yes, being multiplayer games, this can be quickly boring if you only play alone. AIs are not that great, although there's an AI mod it's not enough. Really best played with/against humans. Well, trained ones, of course, newbies don't give much resistance/support.

Not to mention the game has workshop support. You can get more maps, more scenarios, and skins.

Graphic is quite standard for today's games. There are several graphical options to boot, AA etc, but being fairly old games this shouldn't be a problem for nowadays machines. The game uses decent Valve's own engine Source like being used in Dota and CS: GO anyway - should be quite optimized.

As per 2013 Christmas, this is a free game for a day. If you're lucky to grab the copy, great! If not, if you see sale for this game, just buy.

Dubbed as Diablo 3 killer, but impossible to begin with.

Harsh, I know, but that's it. It tries to fill whatever parts Diablo 3 is missing, and I gotta admit it is successful to some extent. Itemization being one, Offline play and PVP from the start are where it shines.

Minus: they can do better with graphic. It's certainly too cartoon-ish for me to swallow. Combat system isn't as smooth as Diablo offers, it's too... what to say... awkward moving from one combat to another.

And also, I don't think they can do with longevity of the game. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

If you like Tower Defense games, this is one game for you.

You control one builder, FPS, and swap between building tower or upgrading weapons mode. You need also to build blocks to maze enemies. Your job is to stop them from reaching the destination, by blocking their paths and shooting them down yourself with your towers to support you.

Once you complete building phase, you enter combat phase. A series of mob will come from one point to another point at the end of the map. Prevent them.

Combat system is flawless, you can move freely from point to point, or teleport instantly to where the system allows. This gives freedom and more strategies when combating enemies.

Minus point, too few maps to play in. Extra maps require you to purchase DLCs,

Magicka is kinda action RPG, or such, think of Diablo if you cannot imagine it.

Has potential, but it's poorly coded and designed. When you launch it first time, likely you'll get hit by 'Magicka has stopped working' error. Thanks for that, Developer, players need to search the question themselves rather than you installing the required run-time on the PC/Laptop automatically.

Second, you need discrete graphic card, despite its utterly dismal graphic. Yes, Diablo or even World of Warcraft beat this game ten to one in terms of beauty, yet Magicka requires discrete graphic card.

It can run on integrated graphics for some, such as mine (ASUS A46C), very poorly on maxed settings. To make it playable, run it on lower resolution and windowed. And even then - it's still poor. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I can see it crashing anytime soon.

TL;DR version, I don't recommend you to pick up this game. Worst purchase I've ever made on Steam.
