I just finished the game with a buddy yesterday. It was exceptional. I would rate it as a MUST HAVE for VR. There are a few small issues that the devs are working on (some wonkiness with melee combat) but overall the level of polish is impressive. The level design is awesome. I'm planning on replaying the game, and I can't remember the last time I've actually replayed a game after finishing it. My only complaint is lack if DLC--take my money Nordic Trolls!

The most enjoyable team-based FPS I've played since Battlefield 2142.

+ Guns feel good
+ Team-based gameplay/cooperation matters, many small firefights
+ Customization system (gun parts, uniforms, accessories) is early but very cool. You win cash based on performance and use it to buy new guns, parts, etc (can currently buy anything, cash temporarily disabled right now 10/22). Currently using a polish AR with a 3x scope on the main rail and a red dot on the side rail for different ranges
+ Lean with Q/E
+ Weapons are pretty well balanced for this stage of the game, particularly: sniper weapons as best I can tell are well balanced with ARs

- Server issues (these are improving)
- What you can and cannot vault is very inconsistent
- Hacks, particularly speed hacks. I've heard reports of aim bots but that's tought to prove.

This game is still great. Devs are still releasing new content rapidly. New end-game content is in the works and is playable on the test build. I would definitely buy this developer's next game, no-questions-asked. 👍

There is no reason you shouldn't stop reading this review and just buy the game. But if you want some reasons, here you go:

* Early access but plays like a polished, complete game
* Non-stop, frequent updates
* Fun gun play and abilities
* Procedurally generated maps don't get repetitive and improve replayability--I'm about 80 hours in and I just saw something today I haven't seen before.
* Hilarious and well-done voice acting
* Sound track is unbelievable
* Dwarves

I'm enjoying this game so far. There are a lot of complaints about how new players and griefers can throw the faction off track. This is a strength and a weakness. It's tough for a bunch of randos to coordinate well enough to run a good faction. There's a lot of freedom and shared responsibility. I don't think this is a problem with the game as much as it is a problem with the players. As the game matures, people will form clans (a feature built into thegame) on discord and coordinate meaningfully. A culture will emerge where people will understand what to do. Further, there are mechanisms that prevent new players from derailing an established faction (protected chests).

This is still a work in progress but they are adding new features pretty frequently. I would call it the adult spiritual successor to Minecraft, DayZ, and Rust. You can tell by playing, though, that the programmers have put some attention to the problems found in those games already.
