Early Access Review
BeamNG.drive is not yet a "game", but it's getting there with a career mode that getting's worked on.

What it is right now though, is a beautiful sandbox, an incredible physics engine, a great hotlap and drift sim, and a tuner's dream.

"But it doesn't have licensed cars" Listen,
if you love cars you won't give two sh*ts about having "real life" cars, especially because everything you want is in there: german, japanese, french, american, on/off-road race & modified cars.
WITH 20 DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF EACH CAR.

And best of all, you can modify each part of each car yourself, even chassis & suspension parts and align the suspension to adjust the car's handling.

The devs are true petrolheads, and it shows through the incredible work, love & attention to detail they put into this project.

Solid gun play, great art style, excellent level generation, cool context, funny and the cherry on top is the love & attention that the devs pour in this game.

Microsoft's poo poo servers lead to de-sync and constant lag which completely kills the experience, and these issues are present in a couple of their games it seems (this as well as Forza Horizon 4 & 5).

The core gameplay is great. It's fun to play and fast-paced (compared to older Halo titles) but still feels like Halo.
It runs okay, even on a 10 year-old i7 2600 (paired with a GTX 1080): +60fps on high/ultra 1080p.

The progression system and the battle pass are also absolute dog poopoo.

Text:
Assetto Corsa is a great sim, not a great game.
The physics are great (though unperfect), the FFB is very communicative but the game lacks many Quality of Life features.
Having said this, the game supports modding to a ridiculous level which makes it imo one of the best sims on the market right now, driving with friends around Japan's Shuto Expressway in 700hp monsters is amazing.

Bullet points
The beauty
- Physics are good
- FFB is great
- Good selection of cars/tracks if you get all the DLC
- Huge mod support (cars, tracks, sound, apps, graphics, launcher)
- Graphics are decent by default, great with mods

The ugly
- no real friends system
- no lobby creation (you have to host your own server which is... tricky to do properly)
- you can't change cars or tracks mid-session
- you can't change settings in-game (except for camera settings and per-car ffb strength)

Decent location/stage/car selection.
Great wheel support & FFB.

Simple, bug free as far as I can tell, very fun with friends.

I've had the game for a few years now, and while development has been slow, the game was never abandoned. The devs also had a great mindset for EA, they fixed the bugs and only then added content. I've experienced only a handfull of crashes in the few years I've owned the game.
Anyway, now that V1.0 is out, I feel it's time to give it a review.

The good:
+ Runs very smoothly and feels great
+ Looks godly thanks to the art style
+ You can build literally anything
+ You can kill things
+ You can destroy things
+ Multiplayer (although I don't have friends to play with :'( )
+ Steam workshop
+++ Mods

The bad:
-

There you go, that's it.

What you need to know:
- (with v-sync on) Mouse movements are responsive and smooth, no input lag, no acceleration or smoothing unless manually enabled.
- game runs like a ducking charm, I had literally ZERO fps drops
- The only keys you can't rebind are text and voice chat (J and V respectively)
- Plays like the original (which means Kat will take you on a romantic ride off the map when you let her drive a Warthog)
- There is an option to center the crosshair (it wasn't centered on the original XBOX release), do know this will also raise the viewmodels
- I have experienced small audio issues on my side but they really haven't affected the experience
- You can customize your spartan, and emblem like in the original and change your player banner aswell

The bad:
- After further testing with unlimited FPS and no v-sync, the game does feel pretty weird. Trying to make smooth mouse movements feels janky (the screen "jumps" from one position to another) and very inconsistent.

I suggest playing the game with v-sync on and the framerate limited to 60 to get a good experience.

Specs: i7 2600, GTX 770 and 16Gb of RAM, game installed on a 7200RPM Hard Drive.

Overall great game.

- Graphics are good, every little stud is rendered
- runs well at first but the framerate starts to dropafter a while until it reaches single digits, seems like there's a memory leak. (1080p max settings on a GTX 770 runs at +60fps pretty much all the time)
- Movement is the same as in every other LEGO game
- Loads of different biomes, different quests and things to do in each biome
- Absolute freedom, you can fly up to the clouds, land on them, build a house on them and then fall back down, dig into the earth and discover caves. Or you can explore the oceans which are beautiful and full of details

The only negative thing is that some people might see the game as kind of repetitive because even as you go from a desert biome to an arctic biome for exemple, you're pretty much going to do the same thing.
