Shoutout to Microsoft for buying out great studios, then forcing them to release unfinished games to appease investors, thus screwing over consumers and ruining the reputation of said great studio in the process. But hey, as long as they are making money, right?

A completely normal, relaxing fishing simulator game. Absolutely nothing weird about it whatsoever. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to just chill out a bit.

You are legally obligated to fight anyone who plays Nioh-like or Souls-like games with keyboard and mouse.

I tried so hard to like Asterigos.

The first five or so hours were very intriguing. I found myself going out of the way to look for and rifle through every piece of lore. I wanted to know more about this city, what happened to it, why so many character were at odds... Then at about the seven, or eight hour mark, I stopped caring. About the lore, characters, zones, etc. And after fifteen hours, I ran from objective to objective, not stopping to fight unless I absolutely had to, simply to be done with it all.

The boring world and its bland characters would have been less of an issue had the gameplay been ever-changing. But it wasn't. It became stale fast. There is very little variety. Every weapon in-game is given to you from the jump and from there, you simply upgrade them to make them stronger while also distributing attribute and talent points in certain trees to cater to your "playstyle" (which is a term I use very loosely as, again, the lack of variety is mind-numbing). However, I will be honest: all of these upgrades did not matter. Once I learned the dagger spin-to-win move, I blasted through every enemy and boss with very little issue. And so that's what the game became: running through every area, using the same skill over and over and over again until the credits rolled.

I have been told the End Game is pretty redeeming? But it took me 20 hours to finish the base game and I have zero interest in going back. I can appreciate what they were trying to do here, but almost everything fell flat. That said, I must give props to the composer. The music is gorgeous and was by far the best part of this otherwise very dull experience.
