Great game. It's best when played with friends and players who are willing to cooperate and help each other. Absolute nightmare when players don't work together. Sometimes it's painfully annoying.

Pros:
  • Free To Play.
  • Fun To Play.
  • No Forced Microtransactions.
  • Runs Good and Looks Good.

Cons:
  • Very difficult game, and extremely steep learning curve. Somehow this game just feels harder to play compared to other similar games I played. Very unforgiving game for beginners. Also, many ranked players are very good at this game and it's difficult to keep up with them.
  • It's almost impossible to win with random players, because many of them don't cooperate, don't use their character special abilities, and they just do their own thing. They land on the worst, and most occupied areas which many times leads to getting killed even before the match begins.
  • CAN'T SELECT THE MAP! Why? Just Why?
Why can't I select the Map I like to play on? It's just so annoying. There is a different Map every 2 hours. It's just annoying and it's also harder to learn the maps this way.
  • CAN'T PLAY SOLO! I just don't understand why there is no Solo Mode? I mean I get that a lot of elements in the game are centered around Team Play, but it's pretty difficult to cooperate with other when they don't want to. Also, sometimes I just wanna go on my own, and play in my own play style.

Best Heist Game.

From the moment you start the game, and hear the menu music, you know you are going to experience some serious sh*t. There are literally countless play styles you can adapt and build on using the Skill Tree and the Perk Decks. You wanna be a Tank? Check! You wanna be silent and sneaky? Check! Lots of customization, a ton of DLCs and Weapon Skins.

Optimize the game before re-releasing on steam, please.

Update 21/03:

I tried out the game and no optimization has been done whatsoever. I'd even say TLAD and TBoGT runs a bit worse than before. TBoGT even froze once on a mission loading screen.

Graphics look worse sometimes. Characters in cutscenes sometimes lag (that's the best word to describe it), and it intensifies the more fps you have, to the point where they flicker in the scene. I really wished they'd add some anti aliasing at least to make the game look fresh, but no AA.

My save files didn't transfer at all. Good thing I have a backup of them, so I can (hopefully) restore my game progress.

Radio stations became shared between IV and EFLC, which I actually like cause there is more music I can listen to. I guess that's the only plus I can think of... which is a shame cause this was one of my favorite game.

The game is well made and amazing, but everything is behind a paywall.
I can't even put a livery or basic parts on my ship, it costs like $12.
To top that off I can't even land on planets, because I don't have Horizons.

Right at the start, I will say I like this game, however there are many things which upset me and things that could've been done better or differently:

1. Cars have horrible handling and physics.
Even the slightest bumps can make the car flip, spin or shoot into the air. So this makes the driving experience far from smooth and enjoyable, because I have to think how I go over the smallest bumps. It takes away that satisfying feeling of ramming through everything that breaks. And this is with all cars. It doesn't matter if you drive a sports car or a huge truck, both can flip easily. And I don't like this...

One of the reason I liked FlatOut 2 so much is because the handling and physics were just so balanced. It wasn't too hard to drive, but at the same time it was realistic and serious. It felt just right. With this game it just feels wrong.

2. AI is either super weak or OP.
In races usually when I'm in first place and I don't crash then the AI opponents just disappear behind me and I feel like I'm driving just by myself. However when I'm behind and I'm trying to catch up to them sometimes it feels like It's impossible.

3. There aren't many tracks/maps.
Out of all the things I mentioned up until now, this is why I get bored of this game. There are a lot of races with the same track, or the same track but in reverse. And it's so boring after a while.
Also the race tracks aren't that interesting either, and most of them feel really small. The only race tracks I like are the desert ones.

What I like about this game:

1. It runs super smooth, all maxed out. Never had performance issues or anything like that. It's nicely optimized.

2. On average the game looks pretty good. Graphics are solid.

3. Music is Good.
Of course this is subjective, but I think the music fits this game greatly, just like it did in FlatOut 2.

4. It's fun.
And that's the only reason I recommend it. While it might not be at the same level as FlatOut 2 (at least in my opinion), it's still fun to play it.[/b]

At the end I wanted to mention one more thing... If you are like me, who played FlatOut 2 a lot back then and you expect a game which gives similar feelings, and brings back that nostalgia, then most likely you will be disappointed by this game. I'm not saying like it's a bad game. It's good, It's fun. But I just didn't have as much fun as with FO 2.

Most of the weapons have way too much recoil and the movements are sluggish.

I'm trying to be as short as possible, but I also want to go through many things in this review.
First I'm going to talk about the Story Mode, then later Online.

Story Mode:

I enjoyed the story a lot. It's full of action and there are a lot of stuff to explore.
I played GTA V first on last gen, so it has been quite a while ago. Back then when it came out on PC in 2015 I bought the RSGC version first and played like 600-800 hrs on that. I'm not sure when I bought it on steam, but it has been at least 1.5 or two years ago. This is the only game I didn't regret buying multiple times.

However that doesn't mean it's flawless. My biggest problem with it is that Story Mode has been abandoned by Rockstar. They stopped adding DLCs to story mode after Ill Gotten Gains Part 2 which came out 3 years ago. That's my only complaint about story mode.

If somebody wants this game for the Story Mode then I recommend it, because this is one of my favorite games of all time. I will always like it regardless it's flaws.

So to sum it up:
- Exciting story and lots of action
- Lot's of stuff to explore
- Multiple protagonists
- Very much optimized

Online:

Nowadays I only play Online. I have at least 1.2k hours in Online. I'm level 289 and I have to say, the more I play Online the more I get annoyed and disappointed by it.

Firstly, Free Mode is a warzone...
You come out of your office or your apartment with a sportscar or a supercar I can almost guarantee there will be somebody who is bored and blow you up just for fun. There are a lot of people who are just going around in free mode with Oppressor, Deluxo, Stromberg, Khanjali, Hydra, etc. In my experience 7 out of 10 sessions are like that. So in order to survive or have a chance you need weaponized vehicles (which some of them are pretty pricey). Which leads me to my next point...

Prices and Payouts:
Many people say that a lot of things are overpriced and the business and mission payouts aren't enough. I can somewhat agree on this. But what I can't stand is that there are vehicles which are expensive for no reason. Their prices just don't match their performance and ability. And you might buy a useless vehicle, because you were unable to test it and to top that of there's no money back.
Going over to businesses, Biker Businesses are complete garbage, except coke. The amount of time you spend resupplying (or the amount of money you spend on supplies), the amount of money you spend on upgrading them and the fees... It's just not worth it. I have almost all biker businesses (except document forgery) and I shut most of them down because it was a waste of money and time. Not to mention you can get raided even if you have purchased the security upgrade. Worst of all is that there are multiple delivery vehicles even on small stock, so you need other people to sell. But even then it's annoying because most of the delivery vehicles are slow and vulnerable to other players. It's just a waste of time and it's so annyoing.
Good businesses are: Import/Export, Bunker, Nightclub.
If you solo then Import/Export is the best one, the only problem is that there's a 20 minute cooldown between selling cars.
Bunker is pretty good too, if upgrades are purchased. The payout is decent and it doesn't require a whole lot of work.
The nightclub is pretty pricey considering all the upgrades and delivery vehicles are expensive. It takes a bit of time to break even, but after that it's a really good business. I just mentioned nightclubs and another good point came to my mind...

Paywalls:
There are a lot of paywalls in this game. The absolute worst one I've seen is the Oppressor MKII. In order to get one at the trade price all 6 client jobs have to be completed at least once from the Terrorbyte computer. The Terrorbyte is also needed for upgrading the Oppressor MKII. But in order to buy a Terrorbyte you need a Nightclub. So really it's unavoidable if you want an MKII like I did. This can add up too some serious money.
Another example of paywalls is when I bought the Akula. Which was quite a while ago. I didn't have a hangar at that time and wanted that helicopter so badly. I had to buy a Facility and complete Doomsday Heist Act I to unlock the trade price for it, otherwise I would've wasted around 1 Million on nothing. But it turns out I also had to buy a Hangar in order to store it. It cannot be stored in the facility. But this is not everything... I had to buy the Aircraft Workshop for the Hangar in order to upgrade the Akula. I spent a lot of money at that time to get that helicopter. But I could go on and on with these for hours.

Shark Cards:
When I was just starting out I bought a few shark cards and bought properties and an office to speed things up. Back then it was worth it more than now. It wasn't a good deal even back then, but Shark Cards are just aren't worth the money now. They are overpriced and almost useless. A 8 Million dollar Shark Card can't even buy a fully upgraded nightclub. You buy 2 supercars and maybe one weaponized vehicle for that money. And it's over. The 8 Million dollar Shark Card should be 80 Million dollars for the same price.
Don't even get me started on the Criminal Enterprise starterpack. That thing is useless. It gives the worst things in the game. It's even worse than buying a Shark Card.

Cheaters, Hackers, Modders:
This one is probably the most annoying one. I couldn't even count how many times I was blown up by cheaters or caged by them. Sometimes they kick people from the session or freeze them. They spawn money on you whether you like it or not. They orbital cannon people. They teleport to people to kill them with god mode, etc.
Not every one of them are like that though. There are some cheaters who are friendly and don't interfere with other players expereince. But this is very rare.

Loading Times, Lag, Bugs, Glitches:
Loading into the game is at least 5 minutes for me. Sometimes loading into interiors takes 5-10 minutes. Many times when I'm switching sessions I get stuck in the clouds. Sometimes I just restart the game, because even that's quicker than waiting for nothing.
There are many times when I or my friends get disconnected from the session. Sometimes I can't even join them and get a Timed Out Loading Session error message.
Online runs considerably worse than Story Mode. Much more. Sometimes it even lags. It's just plain annoying. You drive around smooth 60 fps and then it starts dropping for a few seconds and then it smooth again. It's unplayable like that. Sometimes this happen frequently, sometimes it doesn't.
There are a ton of bugs and glitches in online. One time all my cars disappeared from the garage and I had to restart the game. Many times I was delivering vehicle cargo and when I was done with it and wanted to sell the car it didn't show up on the warehouse computer so I had to get another one. A lot of times the camera stucks on the entering animation when I enter the office. It happened multiple times.

So for me, going Online is many times a frustrating experience rather than an enjoyable one. It's just unplayable sometimes.

I'm in a Love/Hate relationship with Online. I love it for what it was when it came out and I love it because it's GTA, but I hate it for what it became and how frustrating it is sometimes.

When I don't experience the negative things I just mentioned above, then it's a very pleasant and fun experince, but when all these issues come up I just rather close the game rather than get frustrated over it. The very reason I wrote this review is because today the game made me really mad. I guess I just had an unlucky day. xD

If anybody can get over the things I just mentioned then I do recommend Online too, but otherwise I do not!
