game can be hard but has powerups and difficulty setting to get through it for not-uber platformer people like me

Cait and Brint are eternally awesome, i adore them - so much so that never really wanna bother with any other party LOL
finally restarted playing this after something like a year+
still not happy with how pregnancy/breeding-shoving some content (and general wording) is. (side-eyes how the foxes' questline is sharply dependant on agreeing to it. bah - but Kohaku is cool regardless, much moreso than the one the game tries to pair you with)

but the world setting and characters are genuinely largely great - love Kohaku, Leorah and Lusina as well

i LOVE the religion/history stuff in this setting, it's great

so, i waited to beat the game before reviewing this!
honestly, it's... phenomenal, to me
i saw the advert for Switch store and pretty much immediately knew i wanted it hehe
and well, it doesn't disappoint in the least!

the story, arts, and music are all fantastic~ as is usual for me i did kinda personally prefer the antagonists - the Girl in the Fox Mask in particular, as is shown in the promotional video, i immediately just... up my alley soooo much hehe. i LOVE avenger-type charas!
also, the whole mask theme is suuuper cool, and the occult feel is done fantastically

i especially adore chapter 2 and the final chapter, as well as all of the chapter climaxes!

the battle system is pleasantly forgiving - namely, charas never die in battle unless already at 1hp when attacked, so you don't have to worry about being wiped really - the only game over i ever got was because i purposely threw the fight to see what would happen ehehe

the chara outfit selection was quite cool too~
honestly *incredibly* good game, a new favourite for me ^ ^ very highly recommended!

the best Sakura game - coming from a defensive fan of the series!

to begin with, the music is immediately good!
but without a doubt, where this VN -shines- is in the writing, the plot and characters
i have a lot of feelings about the story, but it's hard to say without deep spoilers, so here we go:

i really really hate Ohana, she's a menace - but the writing is really darn good (i hate her because she's a /villain/, and in specific way that hits me like shot, so yeah XD
still, just booting it up and seeing her name again is like... holy : x
she's an -actual- damn creep in the worst way, controlling, manipulative, rapey and groom-y ... yeah.
i don't dislike her attitude to the HUMANS, but what she does to Mikoto, and KEEPS DOING, even playing her backwards role of tutor to the poor foxy after what she did to Mikoto... whew boy. yeah, it's something alright
the good ending is fantastic though, my gods. ; w; the drama, the hype - SO good, i adore it. like THAT is how you do drama!!

Mikoto is great and relatable, and i LOVE the plot of the story between her, Juni, and Ohana - like this is romance done right, very much so

also the rapport between Mikoto and Juni is absolutely lovely, even from first meeting <3 bonding over a shared broad viewpoint is a pretty good baseline haha

holy MOLY this game is a trip - i love the protag a ton, and the writing is excellent, a really superb suspense/mystery
that hits like a speeding train in the end because... damn ; w;

Sophie is great
also, the theme song is and art are superb!

dang though, the writing just grabs you and... ooof. which is good imo, but ;w;

if it weren't already free, this would be a difficult recommend due to apparently being abandoned by the devs - so not prelude, but... all there is.
which is a shame because what is here is very nice! pretty short, but definitely compelling to want more... especially the horror-y scenario

oh well - the music is actually fantastic regardless <3

Komikado Hijiri is a -fantastic- character, she's great
the mc is pretty wild, pretty dense but likable
and i love the rural setting a lot : x
ebi-hime writes characters SUPER well, - people who complain about repetition i... really disagree with honestly? because the writing is super important to really FEELING the character, and just a consistent high strength across multiple VNs!

side charas vary - mostly because the writing is fine but their personalities, in the same way as real peoples' personalities, really grate on me lmao. mostly in connection to their behaviour to one of the two stars, tbh. so whoop xD

i also adore the premise, and think it's executed super well - not exactly hard to guess (at least for main initial conflict) but suspense isn't the issue - characterisation is. and that's really well done here > w<
Hijiri is very relatable LOL, seriously sooo many dialogue scenes where i felt like could screenshot and send to friends like, yup. lmao

edit: so i wrote this at like 7/12 achievements, and... wow. the rest of it is great and def made me like Mayo more too ! def a nice story with broadly good themes ^ ^
