It was fun while it lasted. EA has gradually increased the pricing more and more and more over the years to the point its hundreds of dollars for a single cosmetic weapon. What a shame corporate gaming has infested this great game. The pricing changes over the years + the recent battlepass changes + the rampant cheating taking place (which is only seeming to get worse as time goes on) I cannot in good faith recommend anyone play this game. The company (EA) is predatory towards your wallet and the game itself has been decimated by a lack of investment in its security and longevity. Its like they are trying to milk a long dead cow. Shame to see it go this way. Entirely an upper management issue it is obvious from the outside.

Absolutely fantastic. When it works. If you take this game as is, very early alpha. With a LOT of crashes, bugs, etc. It is a very fun game. The depth with guns, and how you approach combat is amazing. The PVP in this game is unreal intense. No other game has captured the "im somewhere in the jungle getting shot from people in the trees, I have no idea where they are and Im terrified" Real vietnam feels. Solo play changes the game completely vs. running with a squad. Both are rewarding and unique playstyles. It is a realism shooter, so there is all the things that come with that (hunger, thirst, different injuries, raditation, poisioning, etc etc)

So my advice is take it as it is. A very buggy, crashy, early development game that is VERY fun when it works albeit frustrating at times when it has issues. The things they have in the work have me excited, especially the day/night cycle coming soon. Nightvision in the forests of vietnam with the squad? SIGN ME TF UP

Movement somewhere between titanfall and apex levels of skill expression. Lots of customization, the cosmetic drip is immaculate, the gunplay feels great. If you are looking for the next big game, it is here. See you in the arena finalists :)

Essentially two games in one and does a great job at balancing the two so they aren't overwhelming. Has a great gameplay of managing your cult and then running some rougelite room clearing. Weapons feel great, most abilities are fun to use. Lots of customization in how you play and how to progress. Fantastic game absolutely worth every dollar.

If you like playing shooters with bigots and cheaters this is the game for you.

This game is so good I completed 100% of the achievements the week it came out on PC despite being a day 1 buyer on PS4.

It is that good. Playing NG+ on GMGOW difficulty while I wait for Ragnarok.

I pray Sony will release it on PC at launch but that probably won't happen.

One can hope. Thank you Santa Monica studios for this absolute masterpiece of gaming.

Updated Review as of 7/29:
The game has improved MANY quality of life portions of the game. Frankly things that should have been in since BETA and were being recommended in Alpha. Credit where credit is due all of the changes that have been made have been good for the health of the game. There are still many glaring issues (the territory system needs a complete rework, income disparity is hilariously imitating real life). And in it's current state I would still not recommend the game to my friends. If you get it on sale I would say you will get your value out of it for sure.

Many of the systems are very obtuse, I had no trouble figuring them out as a long time MMO veteran but I had many newer friends who really struggled to figure out how systems work and what the best way to approach grinds was. A lot of "where does it tell you that" followed up by "it doesn't".

If you are hesitant to buy check back in the fall when the Brimstone Sands update comes out. Major game changes are expected at that time, hopefully they can right the ship. But the team has a big hill to climb and I am not convinced the dev experience that is needed is there to support that journey.

I've never seen a game release a content patch that completely killed my drive to log-on.

This game could have been great. Keyword here is "could".

Such a shame.

Lil' update. It is very telling that almost all of the positive reviews have two common themes;
1) They have a few hours played, bought the game and reviewed during the steam sale to get a badge and never played again.
2) They are level 20-40 and enjoying the leveling process. The comparison I like to use for this is ordering a burger meal, eating the fries only, and deciding based on the fries the burger is top notch and leaving a yelp review without actually tasting the burger. Ask 90% of the playerbase why they left, its because they tasted the burger.

Amazon has only released updates that further break the game and further increase the grind. I'm actually embarrassed I asked friends to play this with me and feel like I owe them money for the bad advice.

Do yourself a favor and just go play any other game. This one ain't it chief.
