The first half of this game is amazing, the best co-op experience of the three, you are TOGETHER, like the game states. Then half way, it turns back to the original game, and it is as dull and as confusing as ever. It is just mind boggling how the devs thought some of these puzzles could actually be communicated between two people and not get annoying. Some of the puzzles also fail to properly tell you what to do, and what order to do objectives in.

So, be prepared to have fun, and then be tortured until the game ends.

Overall, better than the first, but not as good as the second, as it was more consistent in its puzzle design.

From someone who despised the puzzles in the first game for being way too restrictive and time based, this one was a breath of fresh air. There are only two time based puzzles in the whole game, both of which I think are executed well. Outside of the maze puzzle, all the other puzzles were brilliant, and required true communication as opposed to the first. In the first, most of the time it felt like one player did all of the heavy lifting, but here, the puzzles are designed to be much more satisfying and require more communication between the two players.

This is the best of the three.

Its a mass effect game, but this time around story and dialogue bad, rpg shooter elements and overall moment to moment gameplay are amazing.

This is game is dogwater! I got it for free though! Also misleading its not "totally accurate" at all! i miss like 90% of my shots!

Really unique soundtrack and look, terrible level design and story.

This is a puzzle focused mod, so don't expect much action.

The game suffers from its "puzzles" mostly consisting of find a certain number of items, crack open a lock, or just search for a solution. Just really basic stuff, and it starts to get really annoying later on in the game. And the puzzle design, which is new and unique to half life, is repeated over and over again throughout.

For a free to play mod it is quite long, which is a plus, but I feel that length mostly comes from the fact that there were several sections where I had no idea what to do or where to go as the game sometimes tells you EXACTLY what to do, or nothing at all. It's frustrating, and really brought down a lot of the enjoyment for me.

The story is kept vague and is told poorly and also badly written.

There are some great moments, the stealth section where you have to light the projectors, and the opening sections in the tunnels, all great stuff. But a lot of the combat is very annoying, something that I really think half life is all about. There are numerous sections where there are enemies just everywhere, overwhelming you, and the few times where there was traditional run and gun, half life style combat, I can count on one hand.

This mod definitely had a lot of love and work put into it compared to awful mods like Arctic Adventure Episodes. But the game just really had too many poorly thought out levels. Again, the combat sections are for the most part bad, and there are very few of them in the game.

One major complaint is the horror aspect of the game. For the opening sections there is a sense of dread and it really adds to the scary atmosphere. But most of the horror outside of that, comes from jumpscares. Now I've played my fair share of horror games, but this game its horror was annoying. In most other mainstream horror games the jumpscares are well thought out and paced. The jumpscares became so overused in the second half it really just started to frustrate me.

Overall just an average mod, I would give it a "meh" rating but I'm not recommending it for just how frustrating the later sections of the game became.

This mod feels like the developers took a lot of inspiration from mods like "Research and Development" but failed to understand what made those mods good. Puzzle variety, and well thought out combat encounters. None of which this game has in the long run.
