This ♥♥♥♥ is one of the oddest games I have ever played. On the up side I was not bored.

I cannot recommend at this time. The two biggest problems are the citizen AI and zoning. The citizens do the dumbest things and there is no way to micro-manage them to do what they really need to do. On more than one occasion I have had people die because they wouldn't build a door or they'd take off their spacesuit in the unoxygenated. The zone system limits what you can do with your base. You can only put certain types of objects in certain zones. This means you can put a life support system in the same room as the bedroom or pub. This is a pain when you are just starting out and can't really afford to layout an entire space station.

A lack of content is to be expected but these issues harm the gameplay.

Don't buy this full price if at all. The GFWL ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is a pain in the ass. The redistrubitable packaged with steam didn't even work right so I had to uninstall it and get it from microsoft before the game even worked. Of course you have to make an account for it and give them the cd-key before you can even tell the game it's using the wrong resolution. The GFWL doesn't add anything to the product and feel like an extra middle finger to a paying customer to jump through more hoops when the DRM is already taken care of by steam.

The only game I've had that is worse in regards to DRM and accounts is GTAIV but at least all their crap worked out of the box.

Good game. Mix of RTS and FPS. One player on each team is a commander who plays the game like an RTS with light resource management, building, and selecting upgrades. Everyone else plays it like a FPS or first person biter if alien. The gameplay is asymetric so each team plays differently but the dev worked hard to balance it all. They also continue to work on the game to add content and fix issues such as bugs or balance.
