tl;dr: Promised Consort Radahn

score: 6/10. nothing truly memorable and doesn't meet fromsoft expectations of previous expansions (ringed city, sister friede, ds2 three kings.......)

aesthetics: 10/10 - Fromsoft does it best
gameplay: 9/10 - Fromsoft does it best BUT it's aging
bossfights: 8/10 - Fromsoft does it best, BUT they focused health+speed rather than clever mechanics. malenia is a joy to fight, nothing like that here
lore/plot: 6/10 - they fumbled very hard. final boss is silly fanservice, no ending whatsoever
music: 6/10 - nothing memorable / no masterpieces
performance/settings: 5/10 - still no 16:10, 60fps lock, no DLSS etc, stutters, regressions...
everything else: 5/10 - they just took the most boring stuff from base game and made more of them instead of fixing

pontiff sulyvahn v2 without personality, orphan of kos v2 in midir arena, two random tree sentinels in a middle of a pretty flower field, raya lucaria v2, farum azula v2, altus plateau v2, radahn v2 as final boss (LOL), mini gundyrs, millions of useless items, few new nice weapons, weird plot, multiplayer still broken in 2024

an example: "tension buildup" as you climb mountains full of thunderstorms fighting dragons, many corpses of dragons, premonition of an evil powerful dragon who rivaled the dragon god placidusax etc etc. turns out he's just a bulkier version of a normal dragon who spits out even more thunder/fire. fell in 1st attempt very easy, 0% memorable. base game had far better dragon fights (lichdragon, dragon god), ds2 dragon valley is far more epic and memorable, Midir is still the king of dragons

took them 2 years for this. worried about fromsoft

worse than hades1 (10/10) in every single aspect. 7/10 (2.5 hours played)

26h update: review remains the same after late game and 20 heat runs
