I think a lot of the game design are flawed and it's generally accepted just because of lore reason. But I believe bad game design shouldn't be overlooked just because it fits with lore. The lore and theme should works around a good game design.

So what do I mean by bad game design? The game is very punishing and not rewarding at all. It's okay if you have a group of friends who just want to kill time and have fun, then yes the game might be for you. But if a step beyond that, the game really falls apart. The game actively try to punish you really hard and you as a player has no way to overcome it through will and persistence. The game has no proper progression so even if you get better, at certain point, you will just be limited by the game until the quota get so high that you just lose. It feels unsatisfying because you don't feel like you lose because you made a mistake or you could have done something better. You lost because the game forced you to lose.

Things like having a turret spawning right at the front, having blind dogs and sandworm spawing at the same time. There's just almost little to none ways for you counter these type of scenarios and it could quickly turn into a game where you're just AFK until the game ends and it sucks, it's boring for you sit out.

I would not recommend this game unless you want to kill some time and just have yolo with your friends. This is not a game where you make progression and make you feel like rewarded for spending time on it

The game is great but with the current state, it's riddled with too many bugs that I would not recommend this at all. For example, chest can stop giving you loots due to bug and it forces you to buy gun at merchant. But then there's a bug at the merchant that consistently make you buy all items no matter what you specifically choose, so you end up wasting so many resource. It's really frustrating when you spend an hour into a run and it got all destroyed due to bugs.

Wait until the game is patched properly and maybe buy it.

The loading takes horrendously long time, and the game stutters a lot. Wouldn't recommend this as of now

Great story but there are a lot of bugs in the game and the controls are weird. Wouldn't recommend playing this at its current state

Great to play with bunch of friends

I was hard to get used to the new timeline system but at the end of the campaign, I really quite enjoy the new approach to combat. It gives me more reasons to try out different setups and techniques. In previous XCOM, I finished the game without using some sets of abilities at all but I like the way Chimera give you encouragement to test things out.

There are currently some breaking bugs in games, but other than that, the game is a solid 10
