Yes, and it's one of many reasons why anyone who loves video games should not be rushing to pay full price for games, and absolutely never pre-ordering.
The only AAA company that can be said to have genuinely earned and kept the trust of gamers is CD Projekt RED, but I still wouldn't pre-order because it's just as foolish as buying a gym membership because they just happened to have a special deal that's only good if you sign up right now.
There are plenty of great games from the past 5, 10, 20+ years. No need to rush in and give these greedy companies exactly what they want.
