The direction the Quality of Death beta update is going, is showing concerning signs of this game being incredibly unfriendly to long-time players.

What the developer comment on this doesn't really reflect is that, the QoD Beta is VERY good! It just had some inane balance chances made that really drag down the gameplay. so according to them it's either have none of the improvements of the beta, or have all of them and all the bad balance.

A rerelease to get out of having a totally dead game, with less features than the original, literally no changes to gameplay other than...one lane for 2 players?

Oh, and the balance is *still* insanely awful.

Unstable, even in the harder-to-find "updated" version
program gives no user-readable feedback as to WHY it has crashed as well, if it does. This NEEDS TO BE FIXED. Modding is a PITA since you have no clue why something causes a crash; or even what is causing the crash in the first place.

Put it on sale. Flat out. Cut the greed, your game is not some holy untouchable obelisk, you have made boat loads of cash on it, success does not preclude sales. You would have more customers in general.

Price hike after price hike on an already niche game is absurd, to top it with a policy of NEVER being on sale.

The policy of no-sales is ANTI consumer, not PRO consumer.

a proper match maker needs to be implemented to prevent non-ranked players from being matched with *Platinum* ranked players

insanely long time without balance changes, bug fixes, or any real word from the developers

and suddenly, a tiny free patch that only adds new stuff without fixing anything
and...a cash grab paid-mods-DLC, effectually.

Honestly feel like Paradox is to blame. They're quite the toxic publisher, forcing their DLC policy on smaller companies. Or you get the Kerberos Productions treatment: run down by oppressive deadlines, forced into a contract forbidding updates, forced to make a sequel on no time or budget which lost goodwill of the fans. Then half your game features are soaked up into PDX's internal project for a game skeleton to hang strips of DLC flesh on.

EDIT: The new DLC is honestly unwanted. No one wanted underground stuff. Or asteroid mining
we want a functional game and it *barely* does that

With recent changes to the game, playing as a new player is insanely hard, and playing as an experienced player feels like the developer just slapped me because I dared use a tool that in all rights did not deserve the nerf it received. Combined with power starting off for professional hunts, instantly draining sanity on a difficulty where ghosts can hunt as soon as possible? It went from fun to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ irritating.

Combine this with the grognard brigade on the forum who refuse to let anyone suggest anything good, or suggest buffs to the player, spouting "It'S ToO EaSy" at everything, I just cannot recommend this game.

EDIT: 2023, and. Whooh. wow. This game got BAD.

Also message to the developer: Ease up on the anti-modding pedal please, let players be the arbiter of their own experience for once (Custom mode is not that, as you actively punish people for using it)

This game never really had a chance to be fun. It's far, FAR too monotized.
