This game is a masterpiece and literary triumph. I can gush about everything this game does right: capturing, elevating, and scaling back the gameplay loop and frustrations of PSX horror classics, but what really got me was the deeply personal journey through identity, national culture, memory, and loss. The experience is something I will take with me for the rest of my life.

I love walking around this city.

In the future I hope CD Projekt Red considers adding more things to do in Night City that have nothing to do with gigs or violence: like being able to sit down anywhere, or open every restaurant and underground club, or just dance in public. Actual NPC things.

I'm obsessed with the Zaku II.

Game mechanics-wise it's pretty solid. Been a while playing a shooter with a higher HP pool so it took some adjusting, but it does make for PvP engagements that are always interesting. It's a great game to play alongside friends.

Sad that I can't recommend it yet because the XP progression is atrocious. Not only is it slow (XP gain you can expect per match is the size of a pea), but event challenges are locked behind an RNG roll that force you to play other game modes unrelated to the event.

EDIT 12/3/21: They updated the daily XP progression system to an acceptable level that gradually lowers until the 7th game. Rejoice! Now I'm waiting on the update that ends that cap on weekly challenges.

It's Star Wars season for me. I've re-watched episodes IV-VI as I usually do every few years, but this year I also I started re-watching Episodes I-III (which I haven't seen in over 12 years), as well as the Clone Wars 2008 TV series (which is surprisingly good, despite my initial hesitation and nostalgia for the 2003 series). Between all these I started and finished playing Knights of the Old Republic (KotoR) with the intent to know more about its world, and having completed every quest and side quest as a light character, in my opinion I'd say that it deserves my respect of showing everything I love about the Star Wars universe more than Lucas ever did in the films.

Highlights
+It's meaningful side quests. My favourite moments include: HK-47's dialogue, seeing Yuthura Ban again on Dantooine, doing the entire Sith Academy questline as a max light character, the Black Brotherhood GenoHaradan Assassin quests, among many others
+The characters: Everyone is so fleshed out that, despite a few gripes on how some of their questlines were handled, I can't think of an event character that fell totally flat.
+Its strong themes: The dialogue between the Light and Dark Side make up the main movement of the franchise. By focusing more on choices & consequences, betrayal, redemption, and identity, KotoR not only adds to the franchise, but makes profound observations behind this ballet between Light and Dark through every character, quest and side quest, and dialogue.
+The end-game revelations: No thanks to games journalists I've been spoiled time and time again about this moment but just when I thought I'd be numbed by it the game continues to throw more surprises that only add its themes of redemption and identity.
Underwater Manaan. As if they couldn't make movement any slower than upper Manaan.
The pathfinding and input response: a recurring issue in old Obsidian and BioWare games. It's easy to get stuck between characters. Also, some interactions with objects can cause a delay as either your character is too busy moving to the explosive mine rather than fighting the enemies nearby.
Bugs galore: It's either whenever some enemies die that causes my game to crash, or my character to not being able to move after a battle, or because a side quest wouldn't trigger because of reasons, I had to do a lot of workarounds to fix all these little things, from changing my compatibility settings, or doing a quick pause-save-then-reload to move forward, and even modding out the bug completely. Minor annoyances.

Talk, 'tis no good.
No one home.
Everyone gone.
But you, friend.
You talk,
I no talk,
but happy.
