8k hours in the franchise as a whole and I like this one; currently at HR8. A lot of Quality-of-Life upgrades - cooking, chocobos, etc. The difficulty is the most disputed aspect of this game but I think its on a good curve. Honestly hunts haven't taken longer than 15-20 minutes since MHU and earlier, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I am hoping for a farm so I could get sleep herbs in mass, and a guiding lands that allows me to hunt multiple monsters without starting a quest. I don't care at all for the story, but I haven't skipped any of it. Felt like it was worth a shot but the only importance in the entire story is when you visit the library and the few ones after that. Otherwise its about the same level as the plot in a PS2-era fighting game.

The link system is handy, but also kind of a pain in the ass. If everyone in your group is at the same point (our group of 4 was), to properly use the system, 3 of you have to drop out of the story fight when you get to that point, then drop into the 4th's when they hit that point in the story. Its clunky because we still end up running the single story quest 4 times, which makes the system completely redundant. BUT post-story, it is very handy to have missions pop-up as people do um and have the option of freely dropping in.

Great game so far, feels polished, bit bloated in the settings demands (I'm fine, but all my friends are struggling to find the pretty/functional balance) which I hop they further optimize. To get all the stuff from the master edition costs $41, which is only a dollar more than buying the base game, so thats kinda cool. Don't have to buy what ya don't want.

Nearly every screen has a micro-transaction or a DLC buy option.

You'd think after selling 1 game, 6 maps to buy, and 2 season passes for that game they would be satisfied. But no, you get this shoddy "upgrade", will all of the classic bugs (still not addressed in over a decade of development - seriously, is Yandere Dev on this team?). You now have the privilege to BUY MODS; you head me right, you can now pay for things in the steam workshop in addition to all of the piecemeal DLCs they want you to buy.

And if you wanna get Bob's bundle so your friends can use the stuff too, don't bother, they wont be allowed to equip/use them in game unless they too have bought the $30 expansion.

Wildcard is a greedy cesspool of development and the devs need to follow their characters in game and eat s**t. ^_^

Its just not stable even after years.

Theres some quests that require server hopping to finish because only ONE player can do the quest on each instance each day. Thats a major bug thats existed since 2022 apparently.

Otherwise its a on of crashes and honestly not worth the hassle

I've got to agree with the masses. The devs want to make money yes, but this whole chair system is weird and I was SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE telling my players "yeah my game has a price wall". ofc I'll help those out who don't have the money to spend, but the immense hesitation I have using this over any other is just the "hidden" upfront cost.

The model building itself is convenient (things click together and tabletop sim somehow hasnt figure that out, otherwise we'd 1000% be using that).
Players have a bunch of assetmaps out (called slabs in this), but I really would like more variety in signs (a hanging blacksmith sign, general store, etc). andmore textured land/wall pieces; some display cases for magic shoppes, and a tile "Randomizer" that would randomly turn grass tiles when I lay large swathes of land
so they dont look like an obvious row of duplicates.

If the devs either add more assets and make the price feel worth it, or slash the player/seat cost to like 5-6 per seat, I;d be more content with my purchase.

- Myriad of performance issues: stuttering, log-in errors, etc
- No sense of gameplay balance between classes, equipment, etc - This games been around long enough to have sorted this by now.
- Matchmaking is a fustercluck. If your gearscore is above 25 (so a Nice hat and a weapon), you'll me matched with players of a gearscore 25-9999.

Go play Tarkov or some other extraction looter, this on feels like an early alpha release

I paid $10 for it and its still not worth it.

After about 7 hours I have yet to find anything remotely fun in this game. Flying around the cosmos with my phone in my hand and instagram open, landing on a planet to do content and immediately getting a colonoscopy from a local because of an arbitrary rule that was never explained, then shunted half a galaxy away to prison and expected to fly back to where you're buddies set up.

Who in their right f*cking mind would spend their time being a digital postman when they could play/do literally anything else.



This is the first game in a long while where I've genuinely felt like I was wasting my life while playing.

Oh and f**k you for making NPCs pull us out of hyperdrive and kick us 4x times further from the destination than we started, and f**k you again for making them do it 2-4 times in a row on the same trip. Not even kidding when I say I've been trying to get to one planet (while in its system) for FORTY F**KING MINUTES.

*Edit: Up that to 6 times, and an hour and a f**kin half. I'm trying to get to ONE planet to pick up ONE package to cash it in for mission-reward only resources. Finally got there, but my cargo scoop didn't pick up the objective, so my ship touched it and instantly destroyed it, failing the mission. Which I think is a good metaphor for this game. Spend 2 hours getting the setup to go do a mission, an hour or so trying to do it, and getting nothing in the end but playtime on your steam account.



Theres just nothing to enjoy in this game. Traveling is tedious and buggy, even the "assist" causes you to overshoot 70% of the time (don't worry, the game puts you in a short timeout (FCL Cooldown) after every piloting mistake you dare to make, even though their autopilot repeatedly attempts to land my ship upside-down). The ground combat has AI so braindead that you can mag dump and kill 3 of them before the 4th one thinks to turn toward you. The game itself is so complicated you need to have 8 tabs open on the companion site to do simple things. The UI is erratically designed and makes little sense at times why something is where it is; and the long pauses between any action is really annoying. Why yes, Id LOVE to watch EVERY. SINGLE. GUN. get mounted and the old one removed while you lock my menu for the duration of the animation.

61 hours in and not getting any better; but this is what all my buddies are playing this month so either I swallow another spoonful of sh*t or sit in the corner alone with a box on my head until they get bored of it.

Do you think the devs are happy that Steam rejected my refund request I made after my first 4 hours?

Got caged in solo, quit the game bc theres no way out. devs kindly address this

The games not bad, but it highly reliant on players filling the "look at me", which burns out real quick.
