Early Access Review
this game was good before multiplayer. the mechanics are awesome and the immersion is great. there is a bit of a learning curve... this game will rip you apart, which makes it all the batter when you master it. Now you can share that experience with friends

Pro:
- Legit Fun to play.
Con: Insane grind. But, to be fair, the devs have to make money somehow (they also have bills to pay and they also like money as much as anyone else) and this game is legit f2p, you dont *have* to spend money to have fun, you can get by without it... as long as you have patience.

The only other Paradox Title I've ever played was Hearts of Iron and I loved it. This one is equally pleasing and elevates the strategy genre to new standards. If you're a strategy fan this is a must have.

**BUYER BEWARE: UBISOFT GAME; POORLY OPTIMIZED**
The phrase above says it all. It sums up all my feelings about the AC franchise: It's great and it has a lot of potential, if only it didn't belong to Ubisoft.
I bought this game in November 2020, **TWO YEARS** after release and I still encountered multiple issues that should not exist on a 2018 AAA title.
By far the most annoying bug was the crackling sound. The game's sound simply stops working properly (A bug that apparently happened to **A LOT** of people). I tried everything to fix it; updated windows, reinstalled DirectX, messed around with sound sonfigurations on my windows, reinstalled the game. Nothing worked. When I reached out to Ubisoft they basically ignored me since all they did was to send me an automated message with a link to FAQ (which was useless).
It really sucks to not reccomend this Game because, again, it had a lot of potential. I really wish AC wasn't an anualized franchise and the devs took their time polishing out the game to create a masterpiece.

What absolutely you should do: stop reading the reviews, don't watch any video (trailers, reviews, let's plays, guides, walkthroughs, etc...). Just buy the game. Right now. Don't even think about it, JUST DO IT.
But, you probably won't do that. if you gave yourself the problem of reading the Steam community reviews it means you want some kind of reassurance. Alright...
The good: This game does exactly what a game is supposed to do: it keeps you entertained. And it does so ellegantly. It is also much better at it than many other AAA titles that cost well over 200 dollars (DLCs and MTXs).
The bad: I suppose there's a reason why its so cheap; it lacks some optimization, event though I have a monster PC I still experienced some stutters here and there, some drops in the FPS on some key areas. But no crashes... so that's a plus! Another bad thing is the fact that the building mechanics - although great and incredibly entertaining! - lacks some much needed 'quality-of-life' improvements. The last 'bad' thing is kind of a 'depends on who you ask' thing; "Poor" Graphics. To be fair, 1) they aren't "poor", I just couldn't find a better word, 2) They aren't bad but if you love good graphics (like I do) you'll be disappointed by some pixelated textures. Obviously this isn't a deal-breaker and for a game this cheap I never expected AAA graphics...

So, as you can see, the good heavily outweighs the bad. 100% worth it.
