Half-Life: Alyx brings the HL series to VR in a fantastic way. The gameplay mechanics are incredibly well build to virtual reality and world is beautiful and immersive. Once you've stepped into City 17, it's hard to let go of your controllers. The story takes place before Half-Life 2 and the episodes, but the game must definitely be played after completing those! F*cking hell that ending blew my mind!

More than a decade later, Valve returns to the world of Half-Life and they most certainly delivered.

Fun game with a unique style and plenty of challenge. Highly recommend this game to be played with friends and/or family.

The sequel 15 years in the making

Jurassic World Evolution is a park building game based in the Jurassic Park movie universe. It has traditional park building mechanics as well as a great variety of dinosaurs. Actors Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum and B. D. Wong return as their movie characters to instruct the player on how to build a theme park like no other.

The game focuses around the island chain of Las Cinco Muertes, which was introduced in the second Jurassic Park movie. The aim is to build a successful theme park on five different islands, each with their own difficulties.
The game makes the player balance between three divisions (Security, Science and Entertainment) with different missions available from each. Progression is made by completing these missions and by achieving high ratings for all theme parks.

JWE is one of the few actually good Jurassic Park games made in decades. Of course the LEGO game was fun and the Telltales game was pretty good, but nothing like this has been made after Jurassic Park Operation Genesis in 2003. Jurassic World Evolution takes pretty much the key elements that made JPOG good, and upgrades them to this generation of games. There is a lot more dinosaurs and the graphics are beautiful even when zoomed in.

The story is loosely tied to the current Jurassic World movies and gives the player a reason for building the parks on all islands. It is not a deep story and it does not have much effect on the gameplay. The story will probably continue on in future DLCs. The heads of the divisions are a**holes who are ready to risk the lives of visitors just so the player would complete their missions. Building is limited to a certain area on the islands, which has led to some critique from the fans. The management part of the game is mainly focused on the dinosaurs and their needs. Once a building gets electricity, it can pretty much handle on its own.

Overall Jurassic World Evolution is a good game. It has things I don't like, but it also has a lot of stuff I really enjoy. If you are a fan of Jurassic Park/World then this game is definitely for you. As a park management game, it is not that deep. Furthermore, you are going to get a lot more out of this game if you have played JPOG.

Prey is by far one of the best games I've played. It's hard to put into words something you have to experience. You can choose how you want to play; from how to solve puzzels and kill aliens and/or people, to how you want the story to fold out. After finishing my first playthrough of the the game About 34 hours, on Nightmare and without using any Typhon neuromods I have a strong urge to play again and do everything differently.

Talos 1 is such an interesting place to roam around and investigate. The frequent jumpscares given by Mimics and Poltergeists keep the player alert at all times. The atmosphere of constant fear, wonder and mystery kept me interested the entire time. Squishing a Mimic with a wrench or blasting a Phantom in the face with a shotgun always felt good.

I recommend Prey to everyone, humans an Typhons alike.

No Man's Sky is a game that I keep getting back to. I pre-ordered it because I wanted a game where you can explore an infinite universe. It delivered on that part but was a let down on many others.
After the post-launch hate rush had calmed down, the devs have introduced much of the promised content in to the game. The core story has been expanded, base building and exocrafts have been added. Preparations have been made for multiplayer.
A lot has changed since launch and the devs are working hard to add new content.

NMS is slowly turning into the game it was supposed to be.

The developers keep updating NMS regularly with new features and many of those are community requested. Player feedback is used to make this game bigger and better. At this point in time Hello Games have more than redeemed themselves after the launch of No Man's Sky.

The game is still being updated with new content. It is amazing to see how much love Hello Games has given NMS during all these years! I have nominated this game for the Labor of Love award for multiple years in a row and this year is no different. Thank you for the great game!

Yet again I nominate this game for the Labor of Love award. Also wanted to add that this game is very fun to play on the go with the Steam Deck! I have now played NMS on a standard desktop, in VR, on a TV through Steam Link, and on a portable platform. PC gaming is amazing!

Love for NMS continues <3

Alien Isolation captures the essence of the first Alien movie perfectly. It's slow paced and builds up horror over time. Not knowing where the alien is is more horrifying than looking straight at it, partly because in the latter situation you know you're almost certainly dead.

I happened upon this game during a late night Steam visit. The name immediately caught my attention and after I read a bit more about it I decided to buy it. I was not dissapointed. The game looks great and in addition to puzzle solving it makes you think about what it means to be human, how our counsciousness works and the differences between man and machine.

The puzzles are interesting and fun though I myself didn't find them that challenging. The atmosphere doesn't always make you feel like you're on a faraway moon, but it certainly does make you feel far away from home. The story is somewhat interesting though finding a cure for death is bit of a cliché, isn't it but I was more keen on the ways it brought up certain subjects like ethical questions considering life and man's right to make choices.

As a huge fan of puzzle games I think this game is worth a shot and if you have little philosopher in you, you might get a bit more out of this game.

Oh and by the way, I mostly agree with T.O.M
