The thing is, the guy that is talking about how your Pentium is useless and that i5 runs games really well has no idea how PC hardware works, it's all about the RAM speed and amount, graphics card power and amount, and overclocking habits. Integrated graphics in CPUs are 1/5 of that of a mid-range graphics card. CPUs are only used for calculating AI, and particle effects. I have listed my hardware on my profile, so feel free to check it out for reference.

People may say, "I have an i7, her, I am a gamer". However, the only advantages that the i7 has over an i5 are the hyperthreading technique, larger L3 cache, and 100 mHz higher clock speed. Yes, graphics cards are still needed to run games at higher settings. For example, Intel HD 4600 can run Portal 2 at 45 fps in the highest settings, with no AA. But a GTX 760 SLi setup can run it at a little more than 130 fps at highest settings with 16xAA.

your pentium has intel hd graphics not intel hd graphics 4600 in the higherend chips like i5's. That why games won't run at all
