The multitude of endings, and the repeatability make this a worthwhile game.

Stellaris allows for a huge amount of customization of your stellar empire, species, and with the new update your leaders. This flexibility allows for so many unique and creative ways to build your nation and play the game and I have a hard time finishing a game because I keep having new ideas for new nations. Never finish a game, but always playing.

After having done a play-through with the new Necrophage Origin I felt it pertinent to lay out my thoughts. Overall I really find the mechanic to be interesting, and I ran it as a mostly slow burn instead of having a Temple of Ascention on each world I kept it to one per sector (apx). This made it easier to micromanage instead of having whole planets become my Necroid race when that would was a worker world for example. The Ship set is very gothic inspired and I love it, the city set reminds me of the Dark City movie for some reason, and I like the etherality of the advisor voice.

I will state though that this is not a must buy, and it is more for those who are interested in playing with death mechanics, be it Death Cultists, Memorialists, or even the Necorphage. The Necrophage to me seem more akin to the Goa'uld or the Joined Trill than the Necrons like some seem to have hoped. If you were dreaming of playing Necrons than this species pack is sadly not for you.

8/10

I think this is a cool optional DLC, I got it as part of the anniversary bundle and thus didn't pay full price. None-the-less, if you are interested in playing as a plant race this has you covered with racial portraits, new building styles, and new ships styles. It doesn't add any new gameplay elements, and that's fine, sometime people just need some fun cosmetic options.
