This game, in my opinion, is better than it's predecessor Warband. Nothing beats the feeling of riding the steppes with your fellow cavalrymen, charging into the enemy's line, and immediately dying to a cheeky Janissary who felt like being Lee Harvey Oswald and shot you right between the eyes. 3/5 of the main factions have storylines (Polish Commonwealth, Muscovy, Cossack Hetmanate) and there are 2 other factions that you can join as well. (Sweden, Crimean Khanate) The storylines themselves are really buggy though, and can be permanently failed at many points in the game.

Each of the factions are very unique and have their own elite troops. The Swedes have their reiters, who are clad in the best armor in the game, ride the finest horses and fire their fine pistols from horseback. The Poles have their legendary Winged Hussars, who are armed with lances so long that I reckon they could kill you from the same distance as a musketeer! The Russians have some ♥♥♥♥♥♥, unremarkable elite cavalry troops that lack both lances and pistols, favoring the bow and arrow instead. The Cossacks, like the Russians, have armored cossack horsemen who also favor the bow over the useful weapons. The legendary Crimeans employ the revered Ottoman Janissary infantrymen, who are the best marksmen in the game, and also have heavily armored lance cavalry on top of some of the fastest horses in the game.

Overall, this game scores a 9/10 on my scale. And remember, the sun never sets on the mighty Crimean empire!

It's an okay game so far, I think I'm going to need some more time with it for an accurate review...
