This game is really well made and super satisfying to play as you get the hang of new unlocked abilities. It's got a steep learning curve but after 5 hours you'll start to feel like a badass.

The biggest issue is the forced multiplayer. Matchmaking is the only want to play against another 'person', meaning there's no human npcs to earth bend against, no campaign or way to progress in your skills in single player. There's training all over the starter map and that's great, but it's just training and you're stuck needing to play against other people to unlock any new earth bending moves in a game that has under 100 players most of the time. I've had a good experience in multiplayer, everyone's pretty chill and the games can get intense, but when half of the time you're playing against someone new or some 12 year old prodigy that tries to explain what you're doing wrong as he drops a rock wall onto you from the sky, it's hard to not start to expect that and then feel less motivated to play. I understand they don't have much of a choice, if they want multiplayer to stay active enough, they need to incentivize it, but there's so much potential for an epic single player experience here and I hope we get that at some point or in a future title.

I beat the career mode on this game and had a pretty good time with it, I wanted to leave a negative review for the same reason 99% of the others did, but changed it to positive since I still find myself coming back to this game. But please for the love of god create an option to turn off the stamina feature. It seems like they have no plans to ever do it though.

This is a statement from Survios regarding an option to toggle off the stamina feature:
"Creed: Rise to Glory's stamina system was designed as part of our larger initiative to make a VR boxing game that wasn't just about wildly punching, but incorporated new mechanics made possible by its inherently cinematic setting. One of the biggest challenges we faced was translating the sensation and effect of delivering punches to a solid human when you're only swinging at air. Hitting a person is a lot more tiring than punching air--our devs took (and many continue to take) weekly boxing classes to understand how boxing feels in real life to best translate that into VR. We created the stamina system to combat against the player tendency to charge forward and rapidly flail or waggle their arms; instead, you have to conserve your energy, watch your opponent, plan your moves, and practice strategic defense. We feel that this makes for a much more intense experience that keeps you on your toes."

First off, the request is an option to turn this off, not to remove the feature completely, and second, it does NOT make for a more intense experience for people. Why would they be asking for it to be removed?! The reason I and every single negative review want this removed is because it's a tedious feature in an otherwise very arcade-like game. The slow motion elements in this game are amazing, but when you dodge a punch and go for a powerful uppercut only to realize your glove isn't following your hand because of this arbitrary stamina feature it's a complete buzzkill. It's a VR game, your stamina should be determined from your real life stamina and you shouldn't be trying to emulate it for players to make it more realistic.

The way it functions is painfully annoying. You need to keep your gloves up by your face to recover stamina? I can't even tell how it works because sometimes it's as if my hands won't recover stamina at all and sometimes it seems like one punch is all I can throw without having to wait for stamina to recover. I'm spending 60% of my matches waiting just to have the ability to throw another punch when all I want to do is pummel some guys for a fun 20 minute workout.

Overall its a good game with a lot of missing potential. The visuals are decent enough. Not sure why the movement mechanic changes for when your outside vs inside a fight. The fight movement mechanic is far superior to the non-fighting one and being able to walk in different directions outside of a fight seems painfully obvious. The mini games are pretty boring and the room-scale alignment breaks almost consistently while doing the montages and sometimes the fights, but the fighting is really satisfying and feels great. Remove the stamina option though for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake.
