Yeah, that's not a passive skill tree this game has. It's a passive skill forest.

>Buys game.
>Brother sees me plays it.
>Brother calls it a dumbed down Diablo III.

Grim Dawn.
Big world, very deep customization, and very rewarding loot when you find it, or defeating a boss.

Diablo III
Smaller world, shallow customization, and not so rewarding loot when you find it, or defeating a boss.

>Dumbed down Diablo III he says.

>10/10 Will prove brother wrong again.

Early Access Review
How to describe this game in my words? Start off it's a turn based rpg (older rpgs like Final Fantasy are an example), has a squad and sort of base mechanic that of XCOM, random look and dungeon crawling that of Diablo, Torchlight, and Binding of Isaac, and either in your opinion a very strong, or very light pinch of a hard game (example the Souls Series and Bloodbourne). What I meant to say by this, is that the game is supposed to be a hard turned based rpg. How did they make it hard you might ask?

So from my understandings that resources are limited for each run of a dungeon, so with your money you hav to carefully spend i9t with the items that you are offered to make the most out of it. Another thing that is implemented into the game is perma-death. Which means that if your character that you just got, or had for some times finally dies. You won’t get him back because once he or she is gone, they are gone. Another mechanic to make it more harder, and probably the key aspect of this game. Is that of the stress mechanic. The stress mechanic gives each and every hero or adventurer their own stress bar. During dungeon runs some actions, or during fighting the stress bar will fill up. When it fills up completely it will put the hero into a resolve test, where if he or she goes through with it they will resolve and will become heroic, but if he or she fails they will have a melt down. Which will resolve into having more problems his his teammates, pass turns, make the enemy attack him or her, or move into different positions to make it much more troublesome. If it fills up again, the hero will have a heart attack and send him straight into deaths door, which can once again result into killing the said hero. Once dungeons are done, the heroes will still have stress from what they took from the dungeon, and to fix this you can have them taken to either the church or the tavern to reduce or remove their stress they were given. Sometimes they will not be available for future missions because of their stress, or if their level is at a certain point will not do the easier missions.

Each adventurer and hero you get will have different abilities. Examples will be a Crusader with his damaging attacks towards the front line against the unholy (undead), The hard but Enjoyable Jester with his bleed stacks, buffs, and a finishing move to kill off his enemies, blight and damage over time plague doctor with its minor healing and powerful blight attacks, to the houndmaster with his trusty dog and extra damage against beasts. You can switch, mix, and match the sixteen classes to form a party for a dungeon, some to counter the dungeon, for bosses, or just straight for loot. The maximum you can have with classes is twenty five, so you either have to ditch some that aren’t a viable to you, or isn’t worth keeping anymore and get fresh new blood from the stables.

Speaking of the stables. You have a town that you can upgrade to give it better benefits, from having the ability to get better weapons and armors for your classes, to upgrading their abilities and buying buff items called trinkets. Which gives some strong buffs, but can have some minimal side effects to the class from slower speed, or lower damage.

So my final thoughts on the game. I think in my point of view it was worth my money, and I high recommend the game.

This is the one game that will test your paitence with people, how quick will you be at each others throat for a small mistake, and how much you have to deal with people from Russia, Peru, and somehow people that said they banged your mom when they are in a different city, state, country, or continent. They will use mental disorders as insults, squeakers getting away with it because they play better than you. Oh and high horse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ too.
