Don't waste your money if you own an RTX 40 series, the sky and any other texture that isn't under direct sun light will flicker non stop. None of the community fixes such as DXVK and a custom NPI profile work.

No A-Life 2.0 on launch despite it being used as marketing material (I think there's a word for this, I think it starts with F? Fra-?); Mouse smoothing is on by default and you can't disable it (text file editing is placebo, it does nothing); Can't rotate items in your inventory; The AI is dumber than in the 2007 game and mutants are bullet sponges; Graphics are way too sharp regardless of sharpness level and AA / upscaling selected; The FPS is awful in any area with a lot of NPCs; And, most importantly for me, it feels like the game engine can't run at more than 60 FPS, it doesn't matter if your FPS is at over 150, the game feels like it's capped at 60, which in turn gives me 10-16 ms of frametime, and it gives other people up to 80 ms of frametime.
One single random person managed to fix most of the performance and mouse bugs within a day of the game launch with a mod, but a company with 400 employees can't do these things over the 14 years that the game has been in development? What a joke.

There is a fun game underneath all of these bugs and problems, but to put it in a single word: overhyped. Come back in a year and buy it for $30.

As per usual with every new MSFS, the launch is a disaster and things won't get better for the next few months. At least in the past games you could actually play the game on day one, while in MSFS 2024's case you can't even get past the first loading screen.

One week update: the game is now playable, but performance is still awful.

The software has some persistent bugs and issues such as constantly crashing the Explorer process, the "Show hidden icons" arrow overlapping the hidden icons when you choose to display the seconds on the clock or use the taskbar transparency option (to be fair I think this one is caused by Windows 11 itself, and not the software), when the app is inactive for a while it can take up to 5 seconds for the start menu to load completely, the clock seconds appear and disappear at random if you have the option enabled, sometimes you click the start menu button and it opens the default Windows 11 menu instead of Start11.
It's as close as you can get to the Windows 10 start menu, but it's missing some options, live tiles and the "Clear all" option under the "Recently Installed" tab are the ones I miss the most.
Other than that, updates are slow, they release minor bug fixes and minor changes every 3 months or so, but still, Start11 is way better than the Windows 11 start menu, and it only costs $5.

Early Access Review
Beta 42 finally released as unstable and... AI. A lot of the "work" in this update was made using AI, including the now removed loading screens. And Indie Stone is deleting / copyright striking anyone who talks about this.
