cool units, cool graphics, ok maps and ♥♥♥♥ music - the absolute worst part is that the FPS mechanics means one soldier direct controlled soldier can eliminate a whole squad from positions where the AI is unable to shoot back.

recommend skipping this. - the gates of hell DLC (a different game entirely) is fantastic however

Men of War Assault Squad 2 is by far probably my most favorite RTS of all time. As someone who has played lots of RTS games that all vary in style, Assault Squad 2 is my favorite because it caters to realistic military strategies and unit control.

The game is made far more superior with the Robz Realism mod, which adds tons of new units and balances the gameplay away from the traditional men of war style. The mod changes the dynamic of the battlefield by giving a more realistic emphasis on the placement of weapons, as well as adding realistic damage and armour handling

Every unit is controlled as an individual - and can be grouped with squads if you want, there are a variety of different armoured vehicles and weapons to choose from, and a couple good game modes and lots of maps to play.

Unfortunately the game suffers from its out-of-date (although still very powerful) engine that is plagued with memory leaks and crashing issues. Some in game mechanics are also very buggy and difficult to control. A new player may have a hard time getting a handle on how the mechanics work and how to deal with bugs, but taking your time and doing your best to outdo the bugs and gaining experience, will make the game enjoyable as a whole.

All in all, if you are an experienced RTS player looking for truly difficult and diverse multiplayer challenges, I would recommend giving this game a try. The amount of options are endless and the mod is still regularly updated.

Extremely fun arcadey fighter jet shooter. The story is decent and the music is great. Lots of fun encounters. Multiplayer leaves more to be desired.

Perhaps one of the best and most irregular RTS designs I've ever encountered; it is incredibly complex, with an advanced tactical mindset you must reach to be successful.

The campaign is excellent and gave me a legitimate challenge; your fleet and resources persists throughout the campaign - so there is always a mix between combat and resource collection that you must keep in mind to be successful. The story is also quite interesting and introduces the planet of Kharak and its exploits between several nations to reach the secrets of the world.

Unfortunately, there is no or very little multiplayer population. Which is disappointing because I would love to play this game against other players.

An amazing game that is challenging, satisfying and fulfilling, this is one of the Star Wars games that I think the world has been waiting for. Great dark-souls inspired gameplay, an immersive experience and a well written story, I think this game hits all the points in the right places. I would definitely recommend this game if you are looking to immerse yourself - and if you love wrecking carnage on Stormtroopers.
