It's good overall. Performance is great, combat is fun, and quests from the Mythos mode are a welcome change for a formula.

Campaign however is a slog. As an Achean, you should prepare the invasion and attack Troy, right?

Hell, no. Prepare to beat waves after waves of Hector's troops and his allies without any change of pacing. It gets repetitive and boring very quickly. After you beat the invasion, get ready to storm Ilium with ease. No real challenge.

The same goes for Ilium or Amasonian campaigns. Besides, factions are not so different. Mechanics differ from hero to hero but are essentially played alike.

Perhaps if CA would script the Trojans to summon armies to defend Troy, add some flavour events and quests, this would make the game enjoyable. As of now, the same problem as with Thrones of Brittania.

Dawn of War 3, finally.

Best RTS on 19th century strategy and tactics so far.
Details and atmosphere come with pretty graphics and friendly UI. You should definitely give it a try if you're a war history geek and have been disappointed by other wargames on the topic such as I was.
