I appreciate the fact that we have a official license Monster Energy Supercross game, but the game needs to be seriously focused beyond the graphics. The graphics are good. Lets instead focus on the fact how nobody should be encouraged to treat every rhythm section like a whoop section. There needs to be more of a benefit for hitting rhythms clean and instances where doubling and singling in our out of a section is encouraged. People want ruts, but I believe that flat corners can help encourage throttle management. I dont like the idea that now im stuck with old school James Stewart, Davi, Ricky Johnson, Grant Langston, and Tim Ferry in my career mode now. It should've been an option when setting up an individual race/career mode. It goes without saying that the AI needs to have a tougher setting and maybe even a slider setting like the F1 games and all official tracks need to have all problems ironed out. The AI shouldn't be singling doubles (Anaheim 2 i think). They shouldn't constantly be endoing in one set of whoops at a particular track (glendale) while you cruise through just fine. Or the finish line jump that nobody can jump at daytona. This stuff shouldn't have been release this way and it should've been in a patch ages ago. Why am I stuck to two random factory teams/sponsors when given an opportunity to sign? In the older games there would be a reputation bar. It should be based on current form, a privateer shouldn't have to win 10 races before signing with a team.

its frustrating being a fan... still giving a thumbs up

If you're going to buy it, just buy the base game, then roll it back to an early version- say 1.5.1. You can do this by right clicking on it in the library, properties, betas, and select it from the drop down list.

Don't try playing it at its current level without DLC- it's just frustrating.

Don't spend £100 at sale prices on DLC in the hope you'll like it, unless you have money to burn.

If you do this and decide you do like it and want more content, then pick up the DLCs in the order they came out, and roll the version you play forward to match. Trying to play later versions without DLC is just not a fun experience as the game balance is calculated on the basis of having the DLC, by in large.

Quite a few people who've played thousands of hours are running older versions of the game for this reason- if you fall two or more dlc behind then playing becomes less pleasurable, so you end up paying- hence the frustration at paradox's dlc policy- or roll back.

Be aware though- if you're planning on playing multiplayer, you'll need to be playing the same version.

I played this game during free weekend and I'm not surprised why this game has negative reviews.

FM2017 is basically FM2016 with updated database & interface. The match sometimes still doesn't make sense, with 20 shot attempts, 10 shots on target, 1 goal, while opposition also have 1 goal but from only 1 shot on target. Weird, isn't it? Your best striker constantly missing clear chances. Your defenders let opposition player chase the ball instead of chase it themselves and this often results in your team conceding goal. The 3D graphics is still terrible, even PS2 has better graphics & better player movement. Imo this game should just be an expansion pack priced around 10 dollars or less instead of a full priced game.

Do you know what will make FM good again? A competition. This genre once had several good games like Championship Manager, FIFA Manager, and LMA manager. Sadly those games don't have newer version, making FM doesn't have competitor and SI release database update yearly with price like a new game. Seriously, this needs to be stopped.

Early Access Review
As much as people think this game is pay to win, I disagree. The game isn't super competitive and if someone feels like they want to pay money to get better reels or bait, it's up to them. I feel that the game gives you too much money at the start of the game to get stacked up with good gear and I wish that there was more of a "grindey" type of feel to it. The transfer fees seem to be absurdly high and it really chops at the bank account when you start off the game, so I'd appreciate if they could tune that down.

Other than that, the game is super enjoyable, relaxing, and well made for a game in early access. I definitely recommend it just to try, the game is free and it won't kill you. I'm excited to see what is more to come!

So, most negative reviews comes from the pay2win feature.

Sure it is, but you can't have such a deatailed gun disassembly game anywhere else.(at least I don't know)
And if you've got a specific gun that you want to know how it works, the P2Y won't bother you.(All you'll need is 1~2 weeks of constant log in)

It's just great because we've got so many games that have guns in it, yet many people haven't touched a real gun.(except in the US)
When we want to know how it works, we just don't have a clue.
Yes, we've got youtube and many other sites, but none of them are interactive.
When you want to know that specific part where they don't explain to you, you've got no idea.

So there is this game.
For people who want to know how guns work, but don't want (or just can't) buy a gun, you can learn in this game.
There's disassembly, motion check, X-ray mode, anything you'll need to learn how it works.
More than that, there's not only modern guns, but also historical ones.

Wanna know what red crucible is like, and in particular, their dev team?

I've been banned from the red crucible discussion board for a post I made. Originally I made a thread titled "Why pay money for this" and I basically asked why should anyone pay to buy custom guns and gear that you cant use because theres only a dozen servers and theyre always not only full, but got EXTRA people in them waiting for slots to open up. They let 4 extra people join a full server to wait for someone to leave and the first to click "join team" gets to play.

So I asked, and a dev named kazdonut responded with: "Its a free to play game. Dont want to pay? Alright. Thanks for checking out Red Crucible."

So I responded to that, with:

I'd like to show everyone, the dev shows his exact feelings regarding the playerbase and the game in his comment, which i quote (emphasis added)

"Its a free to play game. Dont want to PAY? Alright. Thanks for checking out Red Crucible."

He and the rest of the developers dont care about the bugs, about the hackers, about the stupidly OP melee, the lack of servers, he doesnt give two ♥♥♥♥s about anything but your money. Just money. The DEVELOPER who responded didnt address my complaint at all. And its just one, of many complaints, that the developers dont give a fu.ck about.

They don't care if theres no servers to play on, they don't care about the bugs or the ridiculously overpowered weapons (they care about those actually, since theyre for sale), they don't care about the hackers, they dont care that a quarter of the time i'm driving a vehicle it flips upside down, the devs dont care about any of that except your money.

The developers basically said "well its 'done', It's time to get paid! Now lets just sit back and rake in the cash!" And that's their stance on red crucible. They cant be fu.cked to write a single line of code anymore if it isnt for a chest with a special gun in it.

kazdonut is right. It IS a free to play game. And that's what it should remain. Free. You're an idiot if you spend any money on this and an a.sshole for rewarding their laziness.

And now I'm permanently banned from their message board for "griefing." They had to shut me up, you see, I might cost them a dollar. Do yourself a favor, skip this turd, and if you must play it, dont pay a cent for it, cause everything is ridiculously overpriced (20 dollars to unlock an attack helicopter) and the devs will laugh at your stupid a.ss for giving them money. Don't give them money. Theyre human garbage.

UPDATE 5/6: I forgot to mention, I hope you speak spanish, because everyone else in the game does. Good luck communicating to the rest of the server theres a hacker if you dont speak spanish. Why does everyone speak spanish? I suspect because its a free game, and because the devs cant be bothered to pay for any dedicated servers so theres nowhere for them to go.

Also, as of today, theyve introduced a new gun. The badger grenade launcher. This truly ups the pay 2 win factor of the game by a couple degrees. The grenade launcher is devastating. One hit kill while youre behind cover, shoot it through a window, whatever. Supposedly it doesnt even arc, the grenades go right where you point them. So you dont even need the skill to kill a guy in a room through a window. The guy with one in the server was destroying our team. By introducing that gun and making it completely unbalanced for anyone without lots of cash to flush away, the devs have unequivocally proven they dont care about their game, just money.

On the plus side, if you have lots of money to spare, this is a great game. Several hundred though. Remember, the devs love money.

6,5/10 - Lack of feedback

I've played it for 9 hours, started 2 campaigns, and I'm still often baffled for why I get a hit and other times it just fails. Feels like the devs try to steer your story like it would have gone in real life, like the fact there was no outstanding RPG on the N64. In the game, making and succesful RPG for that system is not possible. You might think you made a GREAT one, but it will still get abysmal scores, simply because its on the 'wrong' system. Also, in what world is a 4 out of 10 considered as an "OK" score?

It's interesting to include the userbase of console to the success of your game, but its taxing on your freedom as a player. I should be able to gain some knowledge about how games work, and mostly why some DON't work. Like, a "Wild West" theme doesn't gell with a "Adventure" structure, are you kidding me? I can't make my Advance Wars on the NDS without getting terrible scores? In real life, Advance Wars was the ONLY great and successful strategy game on the NDS, and because of its solitary success, the devs of this game don't want to encourage you to make that genre for that system, so they give you really low ratings in the game. That is simply not fair

The worst thing is, they don't really say that. The reviews you get in the game simple give it a score with somtimes a comment like "Wild West and RPG go well together" ( in this case that review would give it a high score).

There's an extreme lack of feedback. Getting intel feels like a process of trial and error, because you don't always gain the info you need. The player agency, like choosing your theme and quality of the game is locked away behind the invisible, fictional, iron bars of the creators of this game. Just let me make a racer on the SNES, for crying out loud. I have to keep rollling the dice until it is optional?

It's a neat little game, that captivated me for 8 hours until I simply noticed I couldn't make a difference even with a guide next to me. I hope to see another Dev Tycoon in the future which should resolve these problems. (Ironicly, formulated conclusions like this one are NOT in the game itself).

Prison Architect is a real time strategy game similar to city builders. You are in charge of building and running a prison. You get to design the daily regime, customize room sizes and contents to your specific likings, control what types of prisoners get in and out of your prison, and try to stay in business.

The gameplay of prison architect is what you could expect from city builders. You can designate a certain amount of tiles to a room, place objects in that room to help it function and try to find the perfect size for each room and distance between them. You also have to design your travel-ways, as letting prisoners travel through tiny hallways can lead to a lot of angry shoving and death. Add customizing and caring for your own staff to that, taking care of scheduling, and dealing with gangs? You have a pretty in-depth simulator here. Not to mention there's another game mode where you get to play as a prisoner and try to escape. That game mode is admittedly lacking and completely lacks a tutorial whereas the main game has an entire campaign that serves as an over-glorified tutorial. Overall there's a lot to do in this game. And with all the options? It's very fun and very addicting while you're doing it. This is one of those games where you start up your first prison at 8pm and look up, realize it's 2AM, and think, just 5 more minutes...now oh look its 6AM.

The story of the game is actually rather interesting even though it is just an over-glorified tutorial. Unfortunately it suffers because the game also has a lot of bugs, which surprised me for a game old enough that the developers have stopped regularly patching it. The third mission in particular has a nasty one where you have to move riot police around, and if you go the obvious closest route you fail the mission because your riot police get stuck in a doorway and stop moving, defending themselves, and just generally responding. Other than that though, the whole campaign was well written and really tied together nicely while teaching you what you needed to know for sandbox mode.

The graphics and sounds are both really lacking. The graphics don't bother me, but the sounds do. This game lacks a lot of specific sound effects and opts for ambience effects based on where your prisoners are and what they're doing based on the regime. That's why the cafeteria clatters and reverberates with silverware and voices during dinner but you'll find your prison woefully quiet during free time and lockup periods. This all does a lot to take away any immersion the game could have had, which is unfortunate, but not the biggest deal for an title in this genre.

This game is an amazing simulator, and it doesn't suffer from the same traffic issues most games in its genre do where you build bigger and bigger and suddenly you can't get everyone where they need to go because they all want to take one route instead of the many available to them. It DOES however have it's own critical late-game issue I think you should all be aware of. It's the fact that once you have one of everything and a prison population that suits it, you get to a point where all you have left to do is repeat what you've already done. There's no expansion of districts or ability to connect distant places to make this easier like in city builders though. You are after a certain point of expansion, basically forced to start over in one of two ways. You can continue to expand the same prison by doing the same thing over again in some other chunk of free space you have left, which then brings in the hassle of assigning certain rooms to only service certain parts of your prison and all your funding will come from your own original profits since you've already used all the grants that help you build your prison. Or you can sell what you have made and start in a fresh empty lot with the value of your prison in your pocket, sort of like a new game plus and with all of the grants once again available to you. This process is what eventually had me quit the game. I think this is one of the biggest flaws all district-less builders suffer from though.

Overall though, Prison Architect is a fun game. It's definitely above average, but it's not the indie gem everyone says it is. This gets a 6/10 from me. I definitely recommend you buy it if you enjoy this genre when it's on sale because $30 for something you can experience all of within eight hours is not a good price for your money. If you really love this niche, then you'll love this game, and with modding support and the ability to save and share your prisons, it even has it's own little community of builders you can become a part of.

CS:GO Review
CS:GO is a highly competitive skill-based game. This is what makes it so great, learning the maps, all of the different tactics, improving your aim and managing the economy. This however, can be a long grind. Every map has its own calls, grenade spots to learn and positions to play.

CS:GO runs great(although every updates costs FPS), has some good sound design, and decent graphics for an older game. Updates come regularly to add stuff and valve keeps improving the game. A big downside of CS:GO however is the big amount of cheaters. If you don't link your phone number to the game and play in "prime-matchmaking" the game can be literally unplayable. This can be very frustrating, especially when you're doing your best to rank up and improve.

Aim and sound play an important role in CS:GO, More than in most other shooters. every gun has it's own recoil pattern to learn and it's own unique playstyle. Since CS:GO requires alot more tactics than most other shooters, aim is more important aswell. Having your crosshair at the right position means you can take your opponent down alot faster. Alot of practice, and playing aim maps helps and using your sound to locate your enemy's footsteps gives you a big advantage. The CS:GO Esports scene is also massive, milions of people follow it and it's a great place to learn. Use this to your advantage. Wanna know those new tactics, boosts and smoke/flashes? Watch some games! You can honestly learn alot from watching the pro's play.

Now ofcourse, you saw this one coming, the community can be really... annoying. Especially at lower ranks the community is full of toxic kids, people who have no idea what they are doing and teammates who refuse to work together. This can be harsh, especially because CS:GO heavily relies on teamwork. Thats why i recommend playing this game with friends, and practicing alot. The faster you're out of those low ranks the better! Once you get a bit higher you'll see the community gets better and better(with the occasional toxic/clueless player ofcourse). People work together, people give usefull information and are just a bit more nice in general.

Next to competitive, CS:GO also has some gamemodes for people who just want to have some fun and don't care about ranks or tactics. Gamemmodes like: Gun-Game, Team Deathmatch and Casual are great for this and the thousands of community servers offer cool things like: Surfing, Aim training, roleplay, minigames and more!

Now would i recommend CS:GO? Yea ofcourse! Especially for the small amount of money it costs. Just dont expect this to be another casual shooter. It's a highly skilled game and requires you to put in alot of time to improve. Pick this up with a couple of friends so there is less chance to be matched with annoying teammates.
