Some of the puzzles were extremely difficult, but tested my problem-solving (and patience) in a satisfying way. I never felt like any of the chambers were repetitive and there was a lot of variance in the levels. Perhaps the level design isn't as polished as in more recent Portal 2 mods, but I think this is still worth the time for anyone wanting to tackle one of the hardest Portal challenges available.

Adding in a time portal made for some really interesting and challenging puzzles to solve. I'd love to see more use of this mechanic in future Portal mods.

One of my favorite gaming experiences. The story was interesting, the combat was smooth (I used a Steam Controller), the art was charming, and completing the puzzles felt rewarding.

I've played two full playthroughs so far and had just as much fun the second time around.

UPDATE: Being an old game, it's understandable that the number of active players isn't as large as newer games. That said, there is still a very dedicated and active community of players, and finding a multiplayer game can be done at any time of day. Most of the initial performance issues I experienced on release have been fixed, and a community balance patch has made every faction viable in multiplayer, granting much more varied and interesting gameplay.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Battlezone blends RTS and FPS elements into a unique type of game that is difficult to pull off, but done correctly creates an experience found in few other games since its first release back in 1998. The remaster feels just like the original version in gameplay, but also improves on many areas including smarter AI units, updated graphics, and even adds cooperative multiplayer against an AI.

It should be noted that I have experienced some FPS drops and there is a problem with the game closing if trying to Alt+Tab while in a multiplayer match. However, these issues have not overshadowed my experience playing the game to a great degree. $20 is an incredibly fair price for this game, and I can't recommend it enough.

Simply the best.

This game is great - both relatively simple while quite complex, with customizable difficulty settings to fit whatever mood I'm feeling when playing.
