This game is awesome and fun, likely one of my favorite open world games of all time. So good, that my cons to this game are just nitpicks:

Pros:
Beautiful, and runs well. Seriously, this game is one of the most beautiful looking games we have ever gotten, as well as diverse. Thick bamboo forests, a swamp, hills with red flowers and tall grass, snowy mountains and ice lakes, etc etc. You dont need a high end graphics card to get that beauty, either.

True to history: This is one of those games for the really obsessed with Japan history nerds. Devs did extensive research on even the smallest items to find to reflect the time period.

Fun and easy: Plays like Shadow of Mordor/War, getting combos, pressing buttons to kill enemies. GoT is a better and natural evolution of those games, putting more player control in fights as you progress the game. Eventually you the player get an unblockable attack, learn unique abilities that do more damage and rise above the enemies you’re fighting while also building player skill, but not making you feel like the underdog all the time.

Cons:
So much clipping with clothing… it bothers me so much, especially in cutscenes. For a game this beautiful your capes, swords, horse saddles etc clip through everything they come in contact with, to a distracting level.

Lack of player choice is really just a nitpick. Spoilers! The game giving you the choice to either adopt your ghost persona or remain honorable is a samurai is one of the biggest parts of the game…. But there’s zero player feedback involved and it makes that decision for you. Obviously doing standoffs and fighting enemies head on is more Samurai like, therefore harder, and killing enemies silently or with Ghost Stance is what the game wants you to do, but as Jin makes his decision to adopt the Ghost persona and push away Shimura as he wants to adopt Jin, I feel like my actions should’ve came into play, Especially if I did the standoffs more than sneaking around through Mongol bases. This game is pretty much linear all the way through regardless, apart from some dialogue choices.

Soooo many PS exclusive stuff that didn’t come with the game. My biggest one is Japanese Lip Sync. I wanted to play this game kinda like a subbed show, but when the characters are mouthing English it sucks. Come to find out it’s a PS exclusive setting. Wtf?

Overall, I recommend it. It’s fun, beautiful and more than worth your money if you like Open World games. It’s a little Ubisoft like… but this game will respect your time.
