Early Access Review
After just an hour of playing, it's obvious that the developers created this game with the intention of getting rid of all the unnecessary AAA elements and replacing them with what truly counts: gameplay.

The sniping mechanics in this game feel incredibly smooth, similar to how they were in older games like Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4. What's impressive is that they've managed to make it work seamlessly in a larger conquest game mode. This game probably has a long way to go, but its potential is much higher than any AAA title due to it's more player centered model. For instance, after a match ends, players are asked to rate their satisfaction with the map. If you indicate that you didn't enjoy the map, you will be provided with around 14 pre-written comments to select from, allowing you to express your discontent/criticism more effectively. This feedback will ultimately contribute to making future modifications and improvements.

Knowing that the developers prioritize players in this way makes the game even more enjoyable for me. I come from a gaming era where mods and the community shaped the gaming experience, so it feels like a welcome change for me. It's truly refreshing.

Looking forward to this game's future development and progress.

Hunt: Showdown is the best rifle shooter in the modern FPS era. The pacing of the game may feel a bit slow at first, but after putting about 50-100 hours into the game, it isn't an issue.

I come from a competitive CoD1, CoD2 background, and this is the only FPS game I can tolerate playing besides CS:GO/Valorant. In that sense, it is the only casual fps game I enjoy playing these days. CoD1 and 2 had a very fun bolt action rifle experience, and this game sort of recreates that experience for me + is even more fun due to the battle royale genre.

There are some negative aspects, such as the servers being quite volatile from time to time. 99% of the time, they are fine, however. Flash bangs are also a bit over powered, as there is no way to turn away from them to reduce its effectiveness.

Update: The recent reviews are negative only because of the UI change. Don't let that stop you from trying out this game, those UI issues will be addressed. This game is still more fun than any FPS out there.

As time moves forward, Call of Duty games become increasingly less and less competitive. Call of Duty 1, 2 and 4 had a thriving PC scene that mirrored Counter-Strike. Today Counter-Strike remains more or less unchanged, and there is even a comparable game, Valorant. The Call of Duty-type genre, however, is dead.

The closest game that captures the feeling of competitive cod1, cod2, and cod4 is this game. Since the major update and integration with FaceIt, the quality of competitive matchmaking skyrocketed.

Very fun experience, the mechanics were fun to learn and do. Wish it was longer or had more dynamic gameplay though.
