Followed this from seeing it at EGX Rezzed. From the Gunpoint developer so you know you're in for a high degree of polish and innovative gameplay. Uniquely satisfying to dock with and raid ships, has fun but challenging Hotline Miami-esque combat. More than enough variety in both mission types and approaches to keep you playing for a good long time. Gets plenty of updates well after release. Probably the best implementation of 'permadeath' I've seen.

Football (soccer) with cars sounds so simple a premise it's surprising to have been able to watch Rocket League grow and dominate in recent times. In no small part this has been down to the regular, sizeable and varied updates and additions to the game from developer Psyonix - most of the time completely for FREE too. They've really helped to cultivate a very active and grateful community. It's an extremely satisfying game with a steep learning curve but once it has its hooks in you, you're playing every night with friends to get better and better individually and as a team. All the game modes are terrific fun. The art style and aesthetic looks rich and slick. I've yet to encounter any significant bugs, design issues or stability issues. And it's out on Mac and Linux! 10/10 sport game, if only I could take some away for not letting me hit my aerials every time!
