It runs rather slow on my machine, which is more my issue as it's below spec, but it's also not playable through GeForce NOW, which is how I'd otherwise play a game my PC can't run. I think the latter is silly for reasons that would be too off-topic for a review of a game I wasn't able to play for very long.

Another problem I think is worth mentioning is the default graphic settings the game chose: 1024×768, shadows on ultra, and every shader enabled? Even if I did meet minimum spec, those defaults would've still had issues since, obviously, minimum spec is what the game should be playable at with all graphic options set at lowest or off. And as for the resolution, why a 4:3 one as default? Doesn't make sense...

Overall, this does look like a game that I'd otherwise enjoy if not for my top 2 issues, the former I can't afford to fix, and the latter would require Studio Monolith allowing the game to be streamable through GeForce NOW. If either issue isn't solved, then I can't fairly judge this game.

3D update ruined the game! Earlier versions used a simple 2D UI, and while that wasn't very flashy, at least it worked on low-end PCs. The new 3D UI is painfully slow, even if you set the graphic detail to "fastest" unless you want to play in a small window. If you only had good enough specs to run the old version, and that unfortunately affects the emulator speed as well. Unless there's a way to restore the simple 2D UI, then I can no longer play this as it is now...

On the positive side, there's official support for playing mods or "ROM hacks" as most of us call them. Never thought I'd actually see something like that in a retro game compilation. Also, there's native support for both Xbox 360 and PS4 DualShock controllers, however the UI will still display Xbox buttons even though the input configurator correctly lables the PlayStation buttons if you're using. If that confuses you, remember: A=Cross, B=Circle, X=Square, Y=Triangle, Start=Options, and Back=...Share, (why not the touchpad?)

If the 3D UI didn't hog more resources than it needs to, I'd recommend this game. Sure, it's easy to say "just buy a better PC", but why when a previous version of this game already ran fine? I'm sorry to say, but I'll have to take the low road and play these games through Fusion.

EDIT: A friend of mine told me you can return to the 2D launcher by right-clicking the game in your library and choosing "Simple Launcher". Wish this feature was mentioned or the simple launcher would automatically be used if you where running on a low-spec machine. So I'm switching my recommend to a "yes".
