The Riftbreaker has been a ton of fun to play. It strikes a great balance between direct player combat in a bullet-hell-esque format, static tower defense against wave attacks, doing research, crafting new weapons, and building an economy to support all of that. The has survival mode gameplay, but really shines in the Campaign mode where you need to build up across multiple regions while exploring the planet. I'm really looking forward to the multiplayer update so I can play it with friends, coming soom!

This is one of the greatest RTS games of all time. The campaigns are fun, the galactic war is neat, and the ground combat is interesting... but the game really shines with space skirmish as one of the best space combat games ever. Up to 9 player multiplayer combat where every ship can receive individual orders and even each hardpoint has its own hp pool and can be specifically targeted. Are those torpedo launchers ruining your day? Blow those up first. Wish that ship could never recharge its shields? Take out the shield generator. That Star Destroyer throwing out too many TIE fighters? Wreck their hangar. The game is built around controlling the map for resource generation, then using those resources to build ships and upgrades to take out the enemy's space station. Sooooooo good, and they even did an x64 patch a couple years ago to keep the game playable on modern hardware.

PlateUp is a restaurant game where you get to cook food, serve food, clean up food, and most innovatively YOU GET TO ACTUALLY DO THE LAYOUT FOR YOUR RESTAURANT!!! This is the coop (or single player!) food service game that you are looking for - its all based around managing your layouts and serving food as efficiently as possible, without all the traversal gimmicks of similar themed games. Tons of fun solo, but even more fun with friends!

Factorio is the quintessential factory game. It balances complex production lines with resource scarcity and hostile pressure better than any other. While getting into Factorio is not for the faint of heart, if you ever played something like satisfactory but then got bored... this is the game you should be playing instead.

Bonus: No its not going to go on sale. Yes, it is absolutely worth whatever Wube is asking for it.

A relatively simple "aiming required" tower defense game with poppin' beats. While the strategic aspects and loadout selection can be critical, the game mostly comes down to accurately and efficiently destroying your enemies manually. The gameplay is basically "AC-130 simulator" with a digital hardware theme, and is absolutely worth the 2-3 USD the 1-man dev is asking for it.

Looking for an RTS crossed with a citybuilder and don't want to deal with going on offense? Then this is the game for you. Diplomacy is Not an Option has a strong focus on building defenses and managing your town-scale economy. You construct buildings to gather your resources, store your resources, house your people... and most importantly defend your domain from the wave-based swarm attacks coming your way.

Early Access Review
Shapez 2 is a super-relaxed 3D grid-based factory game where you mine shapes, modify shapes, combine shapes, color shapes, and deposit shapes. I've really enjoyed it as a chill puzzle game, as everything is achievable and there is no time limit. I like the processing challenges it sets for you, and the game does a good job of teaching through doing, as it escalates the complexity of the shapes you create and the tools you use. The vortex hungers.

A worthy successor to SoaSE 1. I played a bunch as part of the beta, and the game has seen very good progressive development, and has become a fantastic and complete game. For people familiar with Sins:Rebellion, Sins2 has pretty much all the same features... but with enough improvements and differences that it feels fresh. This is a great example of the devs understanding the instructions when making a sequel - the game looks nicer, runs SOOOOOO much better with multicore support, and has some fun thematic twists - but still keeps the basis and soul that made the original game so great. 10/10, I am very pleased with Ironclad/Stardock on this one. <3

A fun spaceship builder game! Build your ship in little blocks, with systems whose stats are determined by their block volume, then slap some guns on the outside and try not to die! There is also a deep economic and npc faction relationship system in the game, but I haven't interacted with that as much.

I enjoyed this game, and I honestly wanted to keep playing... but ooooh boy the Chinese grinders and the P2W aspects make it hard to appreciate. You are basically at the mercy of the game until you reach max level on your character, which takes a LONG time (~200 hours, I was only halfway there) and once you reach the top you start trying to compete with the other groups...which has a massive mega-tribe issue just like Ark. On the plus side, you only get wiped back to the stone age on the full PvP shards.
