Really an amazing game. It's the making of the Theme Park Tycoon game we've all been waiting for. Bar a few bugs and rough edges, the graphical foundation and mechanical bones of the game engine are spectacular. This is a work of art with massive potential. If this is your kind of game and you can put up with a little frustration for your first few play sessions while you get to grips with the new and fairly complex control and build schemes. Then just buy it now.

But as a caveat. I think the game is really lacking some content. Don't get me wrong there's a lot in there. But for a full priced game with it's eyes set on redefining the genre... It's lacking.
For instance there's only a handful of lights, only two staff types to manage, not a huge selection of rides, only a few themes which feel unbalanced in their content quanity and quality, some prop/building parts have customisable colours whereas others don't that should, limiting grid size options, somewhat poor selection of music (No PC theme for in-game speaker?!), no troublesome peeps, no no-entry signs, no on-ride photo, pretty awful development direction for water (although it looks beautiful), No water interactivity not even rowing boats, no fences, no flower beds, few benches and bins, no in-queue ride t.v, no customisable ride cars, no go karts or dodgems, no side-shows, no umbreallas or rain/weather, not much wildlife, a real lack of challenge or problem solving... And the list could go on. Basically it's mostly just a lot of little things that were always in the RCT series that I would of expected them to be keen to add to the base game.

I was an early bird and followed the development through closely on the dev forums. Of which I totally expect Frontier to sort a great deal of the communities wishes out in future patches (I should hope) and dlc packs. They are god-tiering the industry lately and this game is a big part of that, which is why I have no problem reccommending it, in spite of a lack of content, management and challenge. The game is a technical feat, no doubt about it. But it feels like the sims if only the build mode were availible and half the content were removed. The bones are there, they just need to be fleshed out now in a major way. More content and some real challenge and management. I suspect that seeing as Frontier self published this title, the money wasn't there to flesh it out as much as they might of liked to prior to release. We'll see.

Awesome... Just awesome. Great little concept. It's fun, challenging, surprisingly immersive, with good atmosphere and music.

If you're into challenging games. Games that make every little choice count. Ones that need you to think 12 steps ahead. Then get it.
All the down votes seem to be from cry babby types that are afraid of a challenge. Well they were playing the wrong game in the first place. As for the "Boohoo the RNG"... Well yes, welcome to dice rolling. Geez.

----------------------------

tl:dr
It's hard, it's fun, it's beautiful and rewarding. But if draughts/checkers is more your game than chess, then it's probably not for you.

Edit: Having recently come back to finish my 100% of the game I wanted to add an addendum to my review. Mostly I just wanted to say that this game is an absolute gem, lightning in a bottle. Of which, I have not been able to find any decent games of equivalent quality. The finely tuned challenge, the vividly dark theme, the simple but engrossing setting, the perfectly appropriate and masterfully produced soundtrack. This game is a wonderful, albeit small, slice of fried gold.
Seriously, if this kind of game tickles your fancy at all whatsoever. Buy it.

Basically the best tower defence game ever made. Best played co-op with a friend. End of.

Okay so.. 800+ Hrs since early legacy days. I watched this game evolve. It is a fun game with great devs that are really putting the work in. On this basis I reccomend the game.

But there are caveats. If you are going to buy it, buy it with a couple of friends, at least 3-5 of you. Solo players and small group have no chance of getting anywhere. Rust has currently, way beyond anything in legacy, degenerated into a clan game. He with the biggest team wins. Which isn't nessercarily a bad thing in such a sandbox game. But if you are one or two.. or three or four, five players you will still get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by a clan period. Hours of your time in resource gathering gone to a clan that won't even profit that much from raiding you
+ With the difficulty it now takes to raid and with the new XP system clans just have an unrerasonable edge with no draw backs to balance the game.

Not to mention the game is currently totally unoptomised so all the decent server wipe their maps weekly. So we're in a situation where the first two days of the week are stupidly busy and unplayable. Two or three days mid week are good healthy play. And then the last 2 or 3 days of the week it's a ghost town. It's not great.

I really hope the devs intend to address these points. Eitherway, espcially if you pick it up on sale with some friends, you'll get your moneys worth. But bare in mind it can be rather frustrating.

31 Hours in: Love it.

Civ meets Warcraft 3 meet Heroes of M & M. This game takes so many of the good aspects from established strategy, enhances and add to them with it's own flair. Great gameplay, deep managment meta, interesting visual design, flawless art, lush soundtrack.

This is a must for 4X fans. I can't reccomend it highly enough.

Okay so, my relationship with this game has gone on a wild ride. Included below is my original review and it's later addendum. But this paragraph is my final review. Of which, I changed my review to a recommendation. This is clearly the kind of game that has no pity for newbies. But once you push past all the vaguerys of the mechanics, start to find tangibility in the lore and characters, the game is good and was a lot of fun to 100%. Yes, it still has issue as listed below, but on the whole I think the sum of it all, is a great game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After all the stellar word of mouth about the game I really wanted to like it. It definatly had lots of potential in an adult, dark Legend of Zelda kind of a way. But to me, for a game that seems to be about the precise art of swordplay, the game is just too poorly implemented.

- Terrible clunky controls
- Dodgy hit boxes
- Unintutive everything
- Buggy AI
- Awful camera manouvering
- Generally feels like a glorified PS2 game.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meh, of course it has it's pros but it has been more of a hassle to get through at times than an enjoyment. It doesn't matter how patient and how precise you try to be with the game, eventually and frequently it's poor design will interfere with the fun. So unless you're some kind of masochistic gamer that gets off on being beaten down by a game for any given reason, and that can also see past some poor design choices and an steep learning curve I can't reccomend this for you. Otherwise it is a good enough game."

Even if you're not a trading card game person like I wasn't, give this a try. I've played this a lot on and off for a couple years since when I've tried other TCGs such as Hearthstone too. And my final conclusion is that Inifity Wars is the best digital card game out there. Here's why:

- F2P model is fine. Free cards every day you log on/Play you first few game/Complete Quests & Acheivements
- Incredible art on the cards
- Brilliant universe for the cards... it's creepy and enthralling with a great take on the undead
- Final Fantasy grade soundtrack
- The deepest strategy out of any TCG I've played by far
- Simultaneous turns (Less waiting around and it allows for more complex strategies)
- Wonderful, imaginative faction/classes which are MIXABLE in each deck you create.
- Massive amount of cards and strategies

The only cons that I can see really are:

- Why isn't this game getting more attention?
- Although the game itself is very tight, the program and gui itself could use a little work.
- The menu system could be better, smoother and streamlined etc.

A revitilisation of the old FMV adventure games with modern production value? Yes please...

This game or at least, this episode seems more like a proof of concept than an actual game. Which, for the price, is fair enough.

PROS:
- wonderful production value
- FMV old-school nostalgia goodness
- great atmosphere
- lots of promise for the series

CON:
- very short (proof of concept it seems)
- puzzles leave a lot to be desired
- some dodgy b grade acting (can definately be forgiven)

All in all, I'm rather impressed with this bite sized piece and look forward to the next episode (and hope that this starts a trend in general).

Gameplay: Addictive Rogue-Like Action, with a dash of stealth & horror
Art Style: Ledgend of Zelda - Ocarina/Majoras meets Minecraft
Sound: Very unique and well executed

+ Very atmospheric / Creepy/Scary done right
+ Fun weapons/tools/abilities
+ Interesting mechanics add to replayability

Can definately reccommend. Especially to fans of the old school that want a new Rogue-like.
