It's a really decent game in co-op. Don't think I'd recommend it solo personally. But with a friend it's a solid game overall, with a few gameplay/mechanical missteps and oddities and a few obtuse achievements.
But otherwise surviving the forest, learning the tricks to dominate your surroundings, uncover the lore and complete the game is fairly satisfying.

I'll preface saying that, I think there was potential for an awesome game here (1: Had the development focus been geared toward more of an open-ended tower defence. 2: The budget for the sound been bigger or perhaps at all. 3: The randomness in mechanics been scaled down). But as it is, it's a quirky, somewhat fun, mostly annoying and ultimately flawed level-based puzzle game.

Funnily enough, it wouldn't be so bad without the medals system (Medals being your standard compete the level with 'x' criteria). Normally a cool addition to expand the gameplay challenges for those of us that like to 100%. But not for this game, with the medals (mostly being 'under a certain time' or 'taking no damage') having very little or no wiggle room for error and so many of the base mechanics in the game being random or having random elements, well prepare for massive frustration and boredom whilst trying to achieve those medals.

For me, this issue of frustration compounds massively when you add in the worst, most ugliest, repugnant and least appropriate soundtrack to a game I've had heard in ages. It's unbelievably grating and only a few tracks that repeat.
Generally poor or amateur sound design of the SFX and dialog. The tiny pool or dialog lines that play over and over, using pretty cringey humour that gets old after a few times, let alone a few hundred. One run through the game and it would be bad, but you're grinding the game for the medals it's just a sonic nightmare.

The art is really the only saving grace of the game on the whole. But even that isn't exceptional comparatively these days. It's just good, solid. But with a pretty ugly UI, and a few overlooked ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'll add.

To be honest I wish there were a 'middle rating' to give this. I don't think it warrants a thumbs down. There was some obvious care and love put into the game, but for me the fun to annoyance is nowhere near acceptable for a thumbs up either.
If you're the kind of person to play a puzzle game for 20 minutes here and there, and not a big 100% completionist type, you'll enjoy it. Otherwise it may annoy the hell out of you.

In short, it's an amazing little game. Overall it feels very polished. Beautiful, bizarrely immersive art-style. Solid mechanics. A surprising amount of game for the money. There is more depth and challenge than I expected as it seemed as though it might have been a cheap mobile port kind of thing, but no. This is a no brainer for fans of this style of game.

Also:
Which is great, but having really enjoyed my time with the game I would love more out of it. Some more layers of mechanics and challenge. More interaction with the peasants. More buildings. Challenge scenarios or even just a decent list of achievements to play for, as the current list is very small.
As an experienced city-builder/management game/strategy game enthusiast, I've conquered all that the game has to offer on my third attempt (Only playing the hardest difficult, which isn't that hard sadly). Which is a shame because I'd love to spend much more time in this game building more kingdoms. The good news though is that this game is still being actively developed it seems. So in future it's likely only to get better. But like I said even as it is, for the price, it's great. I just wish there was more.

Really wanted to like the game. I love the throw back UI, the strategy that is there is my kind of thing, in theory, but it's not really an idle game. It takes a lot of management. You have to be interacting with the game all the time to get anywhere. it's just not idle. If this were made as a normal game, maybe a rogue-lite, I think it could have been awesome. But as an idle it's just annoying to babysit and wait for at the same time. Not to mention even with having to babysit it takes a very long time to progress at all. Shame.

Like the other souls games there's potential for a really enjoyable game. A solid foundation, but ultimately wasted. A dreadful control scheme without the ability to customise controls. About a three hour input buffer, which will get you killed a lot. Clunky movement, which is fine stylistically but when the game puts platforming aspects in the game it's not good. Lazy, artificial difficulty curves just giving enemies essentially infinite stamina etc. Forget learning enemy movesets and behaviours because sometimes they just do completely random things, pull combos out their ass, that you've never seen before despite having fought that enemy many times. Dodgy hit boxes exacerbated by dodgy terrain. Also having played the others I still find the mechanic of losing all your souls when dying twice pretty over the top and needlessly harsh. If the game were tighter and more polished that would be less of a concern. But often I find I die purely due do random, out of left field surprises or things mentioned previously, rather than my own mistakes. So either you end up backtracking to a bonfire often to spend your souls for a level up, which turns this into a repetitive snore-fest. Or you just go along and lose all your souls. Neither of these eventualities are rewarding.

As I said, the potential for a great game is there. When you're fighting an enemy where all feels pretty fair, going toe to toe, it's great. But that's such a tiny part of the game. Too, there's random nonsense and most of the time the enemies are over the top huge creatures or akira like monsters that are essentially nothing but a time-sink, i.e fight them over and over learn their moves and your openings etc. Which for me is boring. A game like this should be able to reward you for being successful on the spot. Not force you into wasting your time doing homework fighting them over and over again. Because of this I don't find myself compelled to press on. The game feels more like work than fun and that's not good.

The best game ever. Even better than it's sequel. If you give it the hours to get in to it, you will love it.

Long time Civ fan. Particularly fond of Civ5. Took a little bit of time coming around to the new ideas and mechanics in this one. But having gotten into it a big part of me thinks much of what has changed is improved. Certianly the most fully feature base game Civ. The new expansion is looking great. Overall a fresh and fun new take of the Civ formula.

Excellent. That's all. Runs like a charm. All the games I've played so far on it are spot on, even down to the limited audio channels and slow down. Good stuff.

Brilliant MOBA-esque action platformer. Pretty simple but also quite deep. Incredibly polished and a lot of fun.

10/10... Only 20 hours here on steam but I've completed it and almost 100%d all the extra N+ content on the ps4. Highly recommended for some old school platforming challenge. Very addicting, fun use of brilliant new ideas. From feeling like a god to crying into your controller.. it's got it all. (controller is nessercary!) kb/m not sufficient.
