Solid 7/10. Great gun-play and traversal, fun moments between the main characters with great animation between them all. Story is somewhat subpar and the endgame loop is a bit too 'samey'. To be expected with a just released live service game, hopefully Rocksteady can expand upon the fun gameplay loop and make it something to remember.

Unfortunately, given the current quality of the game I cannot in good conscience recommend it. The game has launched without the promised 70 weapons, poor performance, riddled with network connectivity problems... The list goes on.

The core game-play loop itself is great, the game feels fun to play and even better when in the middle of a horde, cleaving through literal armies of enemies. However, the developers, Fatshark, have misled players about being able to earn the premium currency in game, going so far as to go back to their previous public posts and edit out any mention of such a promise only recently, and are pushing a predatory 'FOMO' cash-shop (Which may I add, works flawlessly when even the base game itself performs poorly and is missing promised launch features.)

If things were to change, promises were to be kept, then this game would easily be one of my favourite of 2022 and would remain a fond staple of my games I play regularly.

I want to like this game, has a great deal of fun in the Beta/Alpha and love teh story and art direction of the game. The world is interesting with a good amount of lore displayed to the players through character dialogue as well as interesting looking characters themselves. However, the Elephant in the Room matter with this game is clearly the questionable DLC practices that Turtle Rock Studios have used in the production of this game. There is currently over £60 worth of DLC not covered by the Season Pass of the game. The game has only been out for a few short days and this is ridiculous. One may argue that they are simply reskins and offer no affect on gameplay whatsoever, and while this is true, it represents the sad state that the gaming industry is in today. AAA games are practicing this as if it were the norm, when only a few years ago the term "DLC" would often refer to a £15 expansion pack offering hours upon hours of new and unique content unto a game, not a simple reskin of a character or weapon model. As I previously said, this game is fun. However, out of principle, it should be made clear that the general public should NOT accept these questionable practices which most big name gaming companies seem to be so fond of today. If you truly want to stand against this, don't buy this game. At least, not for the full £40/$60 asking entry price.
