I'd like to talk about the quality of the release, not the game itself.

It's a pretty barebones release, but price considered, you can't really expect that much more.

The disk/tape images can be used on your favourite emulator, which one might prefer. While the emulator/frontend used here is based on libretro/retroarch, for some reason there's a "popping" sound present that can even be heard in the steam trailer for this game. Why this happens is a mystery to me as regular Retroarch does not have this problem. It seems to be a recurring problem in Pixel Games UK's releases.
I really hope the developer will fix this problem; other than that everything's fine.

Smoke effects > framerate

-
I already knew a mobile games series from Shade Inc. called "Destroy Gunners" which is very similar to this game. It's a bit of a souped up version of those mobile games.

Gamepad or mouse/keyboard is much more suited for this kind of game compared to the touchscreen controls of the mobile games, so that's quite the improvement.

Gameplay is like a simplistic version of Earth Defense Force. You can't expect too much for the low price point.

The graphics are simple as well; The origins are a smart phone game from 2011, and it shows.
There are lots of smoke effects in the game, especially if you spam rockets. For some reason these completely kill the performance, even on newer hardware. Lowering AA settings improves the performance significantly.

All in all I can recommend the game if you don't expect too much of it and just want to blow things up in a mech.

I played this game years ago on Dreamcast and on that system it was a good shmup. As far as DC shmups go quality-wise it sits nicely in the middle between, say, Trizeal (good game but low-budget effort) and Ikaruga or Under Defeat.
I am mentioning Under Defeat as that game (why is it not on Steam, by the way?!) has a similar mechanic as Zero Gunner 2, where you can rotate your helicopter to shoot in different directions.

Now for the port. It's ok.
When I first booted it, the controls were way too sensitive but this was down to my screen running at 240hz. This is by far not the first game that expects a screen to run at 60hz; if we change that appropriately, the speed issues are gone and it runs fine.

My bigger problem is with the sound because I don't know what happened here but sound quality is very low. Checking YouTube I can tell the Switch version (on which this port is based) has the same low quality sound.

Overall I can still recommend the game as it plays just fine (if you set your screen to 60hz), despite the poor quality audio.

Meow Cyberpunk Scratch Action

Good and pretty (purrty) looking game (especially the lighting in the environments). The music fits the game well.
Most of the game consists of relatively easy puzzle platforming (just finding out what to do with no risk of falling).
There are a few short action sequences as well.
The game isn't very hard. It's short, but what's there is very enjoyable.

Missed opportunity for the publisher to call themselves AnnapuRRna Interactive for the occasion. Oh well.

For those who don't know crash mode in Burnout.... this game is like Dangerous Golf with cars :p

Since the original release the developers updated the graphics and added a lot more levels.

The game works but having to hit ALT+ENTER twice to get it to display properly is very sloppy.
Simple things like that need to be fixed up before I could recommend it at all.
I think it'd be better if the tables would just be included with the regular Pinball Arcade game.

This game was originally an overpriced Dreamcast release. Even back in the day it looked graphically poor compared to the likes of Border Down, Under Defeat and Ikaruga.

Having said that, like the other games from Triangle Service, the game mechanics are very solid. I kind of like the soundtrack too.

Recommended if you like shmups and can stomach the graphics. ;-)

Reasonable port. The framerate used to be bad but it's fine now. Unfortunately controls are digital only but it plays fine with keyboard. The soundtrack is not the original one, unlike the mobile version.

This game is ok... scoring is a bit bugged with a too easy video mode and I don't know any other Pinball game where the ball gets lost through the side lanes that often, but the theme is fun and the graphics are good. It's just a single table, though.
