Nascent soul is literal called baby lol, because it is a newly born soul. It's basically like astral projection but stronger. Plus if your body dies while the nascent soul survives, you can take over someone else's body. But making the nascent soul is just the first real step. Now you transform the spirit. This stage is called spirit transformation, but the game translates soul/spirit as god transformation.
What actually helped me understand this lore was some mangas / novels / comics
Tales of Demons and Gods
Martial Peak
Battle Trough Heavens
Spirit Blade Mountain
Apotheosis
If you like this kind of content, reading one of them or all will most likely help you with those jargons
If you don't understand it then I suggest reading a novel.
I recommend Desolate Era.
Please, please tell me this game will help me understand what the hell Cultivation is all about-!
