Last Epoch is the perfect in-between of Diablo and PoE. If you want a deep and flexible ARPG with plenty of systems to sink your teeth into, but you're too late to the game to get into PoE, this is the right place, and it's only going to get better and better as time goes on.

Early Access Review
If you like extraction shooters like Tarkov or Hunt Showdown, this is another great one. Especially if you are like me, and you can't stand how complex and how much time has to be spent learning one map and one weapon and blah blah blah in Tarkov, because who has the time for that. OR the simplistic nature of go into map, kill player, kill boss, kill more player, leave in Hunt Showdown collecting nothing in round but money to buy stuff out of round.

This game has the tense, close quarters, dark and grey industrial atmosphere, as well as the finding materials and items in raid and on bodies like Tarkov, but is more simplistic in that there aren't variants of the same ammo type, moving too fast doesn't blur your vision, helmets don't muffle your hearing, etc. It is more gamey than Tarkov, but has more importance to an individual raid than Hunt does. It meets at a good place in the middle erring slightly more towards Tarkov than Hunt with the WW1 era automatic weapons being the focal point for weaponry and more similar systems.

The art direction is also incredibly good, in this mildly cartoony yet still dark and gritty and realistic style, it still feels just as serious as Tarkov, but offers a little more visibility with the mask colors, and simplifies textures so things are more distinguishable. It also makes for some pretty cool characters, A lot of the masks and clothes look kind of goofy, especially with certain armors on, but some look really cool, and even better with the right armor on. It all fits very well with the WW1 space pirates theme very well mixing sci fi and old era uniform jumpsuits.

Speaking of space pirates, the spaceships are very interesting. While I haven't had much interaction with the different kinds of ships myself as being a solo player makes managing bigger ships more of a chore than it's worth, but watching videos they are all very cool with different layouts, and different kinds of upgrades to really make your ship do what you need it to do. Some are very confusing which can be irritating, but they are built that way to confuse any enemy boarding the ship, so taking some time to learn it will help you navigate your own ship as well as help when stealing somebody else's. Their designs on the outside are also very stylish and cool looking, so they are cool to have although not the main focus, and are very expensive to craft.

Ship combat is relatively simple, depending on which weapons you have on your ship, aim farther or closer to your target and lead your shots to hit them for tons of damage. Ships don't explode, they just get disabled until repaired, but while fully disabled will damage anyone inside constantly. Every ship has 4 drop pods, 1 for each possible member of your squad, and those drop pods, or to be exact breach pods, are very very fast. At max engine power they move slower or about as fast as the default ship, but clicking activates breach boost which sends you flying across space incredibly fast, which combined with being small makes you a hard target to hit. If you get close to another ship in your breach pod, you can hit F and ram into the side of their ship to jump on and ideally kill the whole squad and take their ship. While ship dogfights tend to be pretty uninteresting, breaching a ship is super fun and extremely chaotic. It's a giant explosion and you're thrust into it instantly. So, while all the ship stuff can be avoided and mostly ignored, it can be fun to engage with regardless on occasion.

Overall, it fits in a good place within the Extraction Shooter genre, and even though it's in early access I have barely had any bugs so far, and it is very fun and satisfying to learn and engage with. Tons more stuff will be added down the line, and if it gets anywhere near this quality, then the game will just keep getting better. Definitely recommend the purchase if you're into this genre, especially at the $30 price tag, or moreso on sale, which I have seen i ton sale a couple times before I bought it myself.

From the ashes of depravity rises the phoenix of quality. How else to describe the Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe? Such a revolutionary step forward in the lineage of one of the most beloved video game properties of all time! The additions and changes made to this expansion will surely resonate in the annals of the history of all media ever made.

It is perhaps true to say that no mistakes are forever etched in stone for the stone into with The Stanley Parable is carved, has itself been transmuted offering a message of hope to those who have ever erred in their judgement. You are not beyond redemption. You may change, and you may become more, so much more than you were before.

If there is any message to be taken from The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe it is this... What a fortune, a privilege, a joy it is to have had such an experience it leaves me hopeful that as a community - as a world there is time for us to become our greatest selves as great as we ever could dream of in our wildest, most ambitious visions for a brighter future.

I have played this game a number of times over the years. Compared to many people I have lower hour numbers, but it is still by far one of the highest playtime games on my entire account. I have played versions of the game back when it had founder's packs, when the Lotus was a bright purple Hologram thing, and then different times when the Plains released as well as Fortuna. I was very little when I played Warframe for the first time, and my tiny small brain couldn't comprehend the complexity and breadth of the game so I would quit playing after about 10 hours. But most of the games I play even now can't garner 40 hours of attention out of me. Even some of my favorite games on my steam account that I feel like I put so much into only sit between 40-50 hours after weeks of playtime.

I got back into Warframe again 6 days ago, and this time I found it at the right time, and in the past 6 days, there has been only one day that I haven't played the game due to being too busy, and have put 32.3 hrs into the game in these 6 days. The rest of the 70.2 hrs on record is from the other 4 times I have attempted to play this game to eventually quit. This game, even when I ultimately decided that I didn't want to play it long term, kept me playing for more hours than any other game I have ever touched in my life. The growth has been incredible, and getting back into the game and its community has been amazing.

If, like me, you enjoy having things to work towards, where the grind to earn those rewards is satisfying and enjoyable despite being repetitive. (As all games are to an extent) And you don't want to have to tryhard content or have to constantly have a group of people to play with, then Warframe may be a really good option for you. Not to mention how much cosmetics and the Fashion Frame community are a part of the experience, and the fact that monetization feels remarkably fair in a free-to-play game.

This game is honestly incredible, and if you're on the fence about it, try it out for yourself. Give it a good 10-15 hrs, which sounds like a lot, but I promise will fly by faster than you realize.

Stardew Valley is a game that incites a very basic joy inside you. If and when you play this game, I recommend making sure the music is on, and not watching a show or listening to other music in the background. The music is serene and beautiful. That is where the game truly shines. It's simple and fun progression, all in this casual sphere. While you can min-max the game into oblivion and complete everything in a year (and that offers its own fun challenge) I think the true beauty comes from taking a step back from the games we play and the lives we live, full of high energy and stress, and live a peaceful farm life, one day at a time, at our own pace. And hey, when you want some action, you can always spend a night, donw in the caves.

I love this game. I have owned it since I was like 10, and I am 18 now, so it has been a long time. It's always a game that I will come back to on occasion. If you like games with a lot of progression and bosses, then you'll have fun with this one.
