It faithfully recreates the originals, improves upon them where needed, and gracefully expands upon what already exists - just as all good remasters do.

HOWEVER, that by itself massively underplays the buckets of blood and tears, the massive amount of heart and soul that went into the creation of this series, largely from a single person. Nor does it highlight the dedicated following that grew to join him on this nearly two-decade journey.
