i love paying for this only to have to pay another 30$ for the new version. not even a discount for people who own the original game :trolled:

Seasons 1 - 4 were the only time this game was good. They do too much crap similar to what Ubishaft has done to siege. Garbage balancing, ♥♥♥♥ stats changes, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 'evolving armor' (an enemy can be 1 bullet away from being knocked, but oh wait!!!! he shield evolves into a brand new higher level and you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the ass). Its probably not that surprising that an EA game is garbage, but its disappointing because the game was actually great in the beginning. The community and players are all toxic ♥♥♥♥ head streamers or retarded children that run off by themselves then get pissed you didnt help them. The game also has like, a steep learning curve. Not in the sense of 'the controls and strats are hard to learn' but more in the 'somehow everyone is a god at this game and you always get stuck with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ teams or RNG bullcrap'. At Least its on the Source Engine

I think this game has potential, but its sorta wasted with how convoluted the game, servers, and mods are.
i spent 3 hours trying to set up a server and it was one of the most annoying over complicated broken things ive tried. The main game itself, if you arent trying to host a server is better, but not by very much. Constantly crashing, random ass game breaking bugs/issues, the launcher pissing off and doing its own thing. Not to mention there are like, 5 different EXEs and 2 different entries in your steam library (they each both have like 5 EXEs). The last thing, i heard from a few people that bohemia is much like nintendo with DMCA. You criticize their games or anything on their forums or subreddits supposedly theyll just block/ban you or some other stuff. Over i like the game when it works, but thats only like, 60% of the time. It has pretty graphics and is pretty well optimized tho. I like some of how in depth it is, you have to self reload your mags bullet by bullet, you have to learn the weapons and what attachments go to which guns, etc. IDK how often i will be playing the game, but im sad i probably wont ever have a dayz server that works properly.

easily one of the best stories in horror gaming to this day. i have replayed this game over 5 times because of how good it is. wonderful visuals, and super substantial story.

I feel like this game deserves a long winded Ode of Love but im not sure it deserves it anymore. I was late in this game's existence when i started playing, 2019. Even 4 years after its release it was an amazing game, well balanced, fun mechanics, good teamwork, enthralling gameplay, and it felt like the game had a rock solid identity and community. The last 2 years or so have be quite horrendous for this game. ♥♥♥♥ balancing, low effort copypasta operators, toxic as ♥♥♥♥ community and player base, and all the changes they keep making and keep somehow thinking are good ideas on things to remove/add/change. The biggest thing for me is even finding the motivation to even sit through a single match. I went from playing this for like 4 - 8 hours a day to playing it maybe once a week. One single match per week is what this game devs have done to their precious IP. I still recommend the game because its a welcome change of pace of games like Valorant, CSGO, and Apex. The combat and weapons feel better than sex, the leaning and destructible environment are super immersive and tactically challenging. There is resource management (sorta), a buff system, special abilities, LOTS of different weapons, and tons of things to learn and grow and get better at. I say if you are bored of CS:S and CS:GO and other competitive FPS games, i highly recommend giving siege a try. It might have a steep-ish learning curve, but if you learn fast this game can be a lot of fun relatively quickly. I love this game, i hate some of whats its become in recent times, but it will always have a special place in my heart.
