Nope, it's still the same tedious cash grab with microtransactions resembling slot machines. The grind has become even more intense, you can't buy anything or explore new areas without dedicating countless painful hours to grinding for reputation and whatnot.

The game is riddled with bugs, the hitboxes on mutants are atrocious, and the overall enjoyment of playing has vanished. Unlike other games that attempt to make grinding enjoyable, this one is unbelievably boring.

Balancing....re-balancing...now poop.

One of the best F1 games to date.

This is not a game, it's an experience. Been playing this from 2007, there hasn't been a month since then in which I haven't played at least once.

The huge number of mods being developed even in 2018 will keep this franchise alive at least until it's rebirth in 2021 hopefully. It's never too late to experience it.

I don't wonder why this game is bad. If hardcore pvp russian players like it, there is no chance that everyone will like it.
Couple of years ago, before it was greenlit and released on steam, this game had a great and friendly community, not very big but we were all like family.

Then the devs started neglecting player's requests, started banning others from forums who heavily criticized the game's flaws and it's bad development decisions. Later the game became unplayable and people left.

After a while they fixed most of it's problems but people didn't came back, not after they got banned for speaking openly how the game was bad. They even banned the use of the word S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on the forums, even though the devs had claimed that there were no legal disputes with GSC Game World over the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. brand.

The funny thing is, they wanted to reach more people so they brought the game to Steam, here people can criticize and complain about the game. When I look how people tell the ugly truth about this game in the reviews, I kinda feel bad about the devs, but you can't ignore the truth.


The game itself was great, very atmospheric and immersive, you could lose yourself in it for weeks and months. I sometimes miss the old verions of the game, it was simple and most importantly it worked.

Now, I can't say that I recognize this game anymore, every fun thing was removed or has been made ridiculously complicated, like the skill system. Next I want to see a perk that allows you to walk or look around. Quantity over quality.

There is this StalkerOnline game which is very similar to this one, but guess what? the old game that was 100 times better than this was called "Stalker Online" and it was made by Cybertime Systems. The same company which now makes sZone-Online. After the rename, the game became crap.
