I had nearly 4,000 hours on TF2 and 500 hours on CS:GO/CS2 when I made the jump from those games to Apex Legends after being introduced by friends who were playing it at the time. I started playing during Season 17: Arsenal, intrigued by the game and its mechanics because the game was built on a heavily modified version of the Source Engine; it felt like I was at home. Up until now, which is currently Season 23: From the Rift, and I f***ing hate everything about it. Especially after experiencing the peak of the game during Season 19: Ignite, the game has progressively gone downhill ever since, and the same sentiment is shared by a lot of players/content creators that play the game minimally or have just stopped playing entirely.

Literally every possible bad decision EA has made and implemented into Apex was committed, filled by corporate greed and managing incompetence; the only nice thing I could even think of is the Legend Skill Tree Upgrade System from Season 20: Breakout. Everything else:
  • Ranked is actually d***hit at this point and is not worth anyone's time unless you literally do this for a living. I've consistently gotten Platinum for 3 seasons and just managed to get Diamond, which is literally unable to reach except you threestack with friends.
  • Normal is even more f**king a** because you would literally run into sweaty triple Predator badges premade trios killing everyone in the lobby. Also, they shove limited-time events like Rift Relics down players throats by letting it take over normal Trios, without consideration for the normal player base that just wants to play the game in its default state and is not willing to play ranked. Effectively a giant middle finger to casuals, either you play ranked or get one-shotted by a 100,000 kills Horizon with an EPG, or just don't play the game at all.
  • Mixtape is boring, and the mode is also filled with sweats that try too hard in a non-serious gamemode.
  • The servers still somehow manage to be worse than Roblox's, and its so consistently bad its not even funny.
  • Collection Events, where players could spend crafting metals to get limited-time skin(s) of their choosing have now been replaced by Milestone Events, which is just gacha for a chance to get the skin(s) that you want because they aren't craftable. If you really want the skin you could just drop $10 woth of apex coins to buy them directly from the shop.

Apex Legends in its current state is astronomically bad, and the current player base (124k) is near that of the launch date player base (117k). Not only that, the game is unfriendly and very unwelcoming to new players that are willing to try out the game due to the fact that every mode is so insanely sweaty. Instead of thinking of ways to milk players' money from future Milestone Events and blatantly selling overpriced legends' skins sold in the shop, start f**king listening to the voices and opinions of the casual player base instead of tryhard eSport pros for content and balance changes.

Until there are some actual improvements to Apex Legends, I would not recommend anyone install this dogwater game for their own mental well-being. Just play something else.
