Faster Than Light is an absolute masterpiece of a game. Before I even discuss the game's content at all, just trust me when I say it's worth the asking price. Easily the best $10 you'll ever spend.

In FTL, you pilot a spaceship on a mission to save the Federation from the rebels that seek to overthrow it. Your mission will require you to traverse 8 different sectors in order to deliver special intel and defeat the rebel flagship. Along the way you'll fight enemy ships, encounter strange anomalies, purchase upgrades, find new weapons, and much more. You'll also die. A lot. It's just part of the game. It took me several attempts to beat it the first time. The game can definitely be a lot to handle at first, but once you get a good grasp of how all the different systems work you begin to see just how in-depth the game can be. Make sure to pause the game often at first. Take your time to read through the descriptions of all the different systems to familiarize yourself before stuff gets really crazy like the later sectors.

Faster Than Light deserves at least a few hours of your time. It can be frustrating at first, but it is a masterpiece of a game. I'll even admit that while I had this game in my library for years, I didn't seriously sit down and give it the attention it deserved until recently. Don't make the same mistake.
